Our Extended Families

Keitha-Lynn's on Sunday Afternoon

Keitha-Lynn is the oldest of three children. She has a younger brother, Jason, who is engaged to Jessica and they will be married this summer. Her sister, Tabitha, is married to Aaron and they have a 7 month old, Owen with another baby on the way. Even though there is a six and a half age difference between Keitha-Lynn and her brother and sister they have very close relationships and are involved with each other's daily lives since they all live within five minutes of each other.

Her parents live next door and have been married 33 years. Her dad Keith is retired and works in security. Her mom Loretta stays home and is always ready to watch the grandchildren! We have dinner together with the extended family regularly and get together several evenings just to talk and let the kids play together. We have lots of fun times and can't wait for another baby to join our loving environment!

Planting a Rose Bush with Mark's Parents

We go on family vacations every year. Some highlights are when everyone goes to the beach to play in the waves and build sand castles or splash in the pool for some fun. We always play games and stay up late on camping trips. Keitha-Lynn's dad and brother build a fire for us to roast marshmallows and pop pop-corn.

Mark is the youngest of two children. His older brother, Michael, is married to Len and they have one son, John, who they adopted. His parents have been married 34 years. His dad, Ed is retired and works in security. His mom, Davin is retired and works part time as a school bus aide. They live twelve hours away. We visit them once a year. Ed and Davin travel to our home twice a year. These visits are always filled with going to amusement parks, taking boat rides, and going to a local ice cream stand. During the last visit, we camped out in their new camper.

We have phone calls on a weekly basis to stay involved in each others life happenings. Also, we send frequent pictures, notes, and gifts through the mail. They always enjoy hearing Spencer's voice over the phone when he shares his latest stories. They are ready to welcome a new member into their family!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live fifteen minutes away from the city in a small, quiet community where Keitha-Lynn's family has grown up. Our home and Keitha-Lynn's parents' home are built upon a small hill. There are several children in our area and with a playground across the street, you can always play with friends or ride bikes.

Skipping Rocks at the Local Park

Our home has a living room, dining room, family room/playroom with a fireplace, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms. Downstairs is our laundry area. Our yard is already equipped with a large play set with a slide, swings, rock climbing wall, playhouse and monkey bars. There is also a sandbox and rock play area under our deck which provides a nice cool play space. There are plenty of trees to keep us shaded. We have a blacktop area in front of our garage that is a great place for riding toys or side walk chalk. Sometimes a short walk to the wooded area in our back yard is a fun place for a picnic.

Next door at Mom-maw and Pop-paw's, there is a small basketball hoop, trampoline, a large above ground pool and a place to play with balls.

There are parades, Halloween activities, egg hunts, and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony that are fun things in our town. Our library is across the street as well and they offer story time activities and summer reading programs. We are very involved with our church which is ten minutes away. We are also a short drive from several parks, children's museums, theaters, shopping areas, family fun centers with miniature golf, go carts, arcades, and paddle boats.
