Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home

While we enjoy traveling all over, there really is no place like home. Home for us is in Connecticut where we enjoy the best of all seasons from having fun in the snow to planting extensive gardens at our house to eating a summer dinner by the water to playing in the leaves with our children.

Our home is a center-hall colonial, situated on almost 3 acres of land on a cul-de-sac. The home features 12 rooms, including a playroom on the first floor. The home also features a deck, a great hill for sledding, a great view of the area and a fenced yard.

Our street is very family friendly- we have had many sledding parties this past winter including a BBQ after a blizzard. There is also a neighborhood block party at the end of September. We are involved with our church and several groups where we get to socialize as a couple and a family with others from our town. We are also members of a swim club where we can go for a quick swim, play tennis, or go to the clubhouse to grab some dinner.

Our town is in a suburban area and offers many resources, including highly ranked schools, parks, nature preserves, library, recreational facilities, a variety of restaurants and a community farm with year-round activities. We love the area we live in because it has so much to offer and is a great place to raise a family.

Our Extended Families
Picking Strawberries with Chris' Family

Our extended families have become one big extended family. Many of our extended family members live within driving distance, and we also regularly visit some of our family in Florida. Birthdays and special occasions often lead to a large gathering of family and close friends. We often host family gatherings at our house and our vacation house at the beach. This past winter our extended family helped us create some extensive sledding ramps in the snow in our backyard and we had some crazy sledding marathons with family members of all ages participating. We are very thankful to have such close relationships with our parents, siblings and cousins. Sometimes we travel with a large group of family -- Chris' mom organizes an annual trip that 20-30 family and close friends typically join in on. We don't always participate but since having children our family has gone with the group on a Mediterranean cruise and a Panama Canal cruise. All of our family members have been incredibly supportive of our adoption journey.
