Amy is the youngest of three girls. Her oldest sister, Hope, is married to Chris. They have four children, ranging in age from 9 to 19 years old. Her middle sister, Laurie, is married to Erik, and they also have four children ranging in age from 9 to 19 years old. They all live about four hours away, in Oklahoma. We get to see them often and really enjoy spending time with the kids. Amy's Mom, Mary, also lives in Oklahoma, and is excited about our plans to adopt…as is Amy's Dad, Bill who lives just several hours away in Texas. We alternate Christmas and Thanksgiving with Mark's family and we especially enjoy getting to spend the holidays with family every year.
Thanksgiving at Our Home with Mark’s Family
Mark has a unique appreciation of adoption, as he and his two
siblings were adopted at birth, by their parents Rudy and Delmira. Mark was adopted and raised in Texas, with his older brother Rudy, Jr., and his younger sister, Kristina. Mark attributes many of his successes in life, to being adopted, not to mention the loving family that he was blessed to join as an infant. Mark's family is descendent from Spain (on his Dad's side) and Mexico/Texas (on his Mom's side), and has raised Mark in a rich and deep Hispanic culture… with a strong emphasis on the importance of family. Adoption has also blessed several of Mark's cousins and the entire family is ecstatic about our plans to bring another
member into the family.
Mark's parents have recently relocated to within 20 minutes of us…in order to be close to their family. Rudy lives several houses away from Mark’s parents, along with his wife Robin, their two-year-old daughter, Remi…and their infant son, Ridge. Mark and Amy have a very close relationship to his family and are blessed to be able to get together on a regular basis. We always have a lot of laughter, great conversations, and fun.
Our House and Neighborhood
Home Sweet Home
We have lived in our home for nearly four years. The neighborhood is well established, with a blend of young families, with children, and senior neighbors who are always happy to share their wisdom and experience, acquired over many years. We are located centrally
in a large city in Texas.
A Park and Lake Near Our Home
There are lots of big trees, parks, great award-winning schools, and fun activities like museums and theatres. Our house is a one-story, brick exterior ranch with two bedrooms, a large living room and den…waiting to be filled with further laughter and joy. As many visitors have told us, our house has the "feeling of a warm, loving home."
