Lisa comes from a family of four: her mom, dad, sister, and herself. Lisa has a very close relationship with her family. Lisa's family lives just a few miles away. Her mom and dad still work but are soon to be retired. Lisa has one sister who is married and has two children, Preston and Christian. Lisa's sister lives two streets behind us. Since we all live so close, we get together at least once a week for barbeques, to go swimming, or just to have lunch or dinner.
With Ben’s Brother, Wife and Daughter
Ben is the middle of three boys. Ben's oldest brother is a doctor and his younger brother, who is married with a daughter, Morgan, is a manager of a local gym. Ben's family lives very close too so we are able to see them often as well. His family has gone through hard times in the past, but has become a lot closer in the last several years. His younger brother was diagnosed with cancer three years ago and is
fortunately now in remission. We spend a lot of time with Ben's family.
Both of our families get along together very well. Our families spend many holidays and every birthday celebrating together. In fact Lisa and Ben's mom share the same birthday! The two families like playing games together such as: cards, Pictionary, Poker, and Scrabble. There is always laughter and fun when we are all together. Both families are overwhelmed with joy and excitement about the decision to adopt a child, especially Lisa's Aunt and Uncle who were adopted by her grandmother.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
We live in a growing community in Arizona. We live just a few short hours from Flagstaff and Tucson, where it snows. Our house is just over two years old. Our house has three bedrooms plus an office and has a swimming pool. It is very open and
spacious. We spend a lot of time at home, especially in the backyard having barbeques and swim parties with friends, family,
and neighbors. We live across from a great park that has a jungle gym, tons of grass and a great walking area. Our neighborhood is a family oriented community with lots of children ranging from newborns to early teens. Every month we have a community block party where the entire neighborhood gets together. Every other Friday the families on our street get together out by the park so all the kids can play together and the adults can talk and hang out. We have talked to all the families on our street about adopting a child and they are so excited! They can't wait until we have a child of our own to join all of their kids who are playing.
Our Backyard
We live within walking distance of two elementary schools and one high school. The schools are well funded and are equipped with new and advanced technology. In fact, Lisa teaches at one
of the nearby elementary schools. We live very close to many restaurants and stores. Because we are a growing community each year we are getting more and more new restaurants and shops.
