Our Families

Kevin's Immediate Family

Kevin’s parents live in a small town about an hour away. His father is retired and enjoys spending his free time outside in his garden or tending to his rose bushes. Kevin's mother was always a stay-at-home mother and made sure that any family time was good, quality family time. Meals were always home-cooked and took place around the dinner table and mealtime was spent discussing the day's activities. Kevin has fond memories of family activities such as bicycling, walking or spending time at a park. These activities are still enjoyed by all. Kevin remembers great emphasis was put on doing well and being your best. The decision to adopt has been overwhelmingly supported by his family. Given that Kevin and his extended family still live in close proximity to each other, a helping hand or word of advice is just a phone call or a short car ride away. That will come in handy with a new grandbaby!

Ginger's Immediate Family

Ginger’s parents live a few hours away in a small town. Both of her parents are retired. Ginger's sister, Jennifer, lives near her with her husband Paul and their son Bryant who is three years old. It is especially fun to be able to see her nephew grow up. We love being able to attend his birthday parties and school functions. Ginger's mom is an excellent cook and is known for her bountiful holiday meals made with love. Ginger's dad is known as the family joke teller and keeps everyone laughing with his stories and witty character. Ginger has a large extended family with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Everyone looks forward to getting together at various holidays to share great food, great fun, and memories. Family functions are also a good time to challenge each other to a competitive game of cards. All of the grandparents are beside themselves with excitement in anticipation of a new grandchild.

We feel very blessed that both sets of parents have been married over forty years!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

Nestled in the suburbs of a large metropolitan city, we live in a Cape Cod style home in a family-oriented neighborhood. With three bedrooms and a multitude of living space, our favorite part is the huge yard. It's large, mature trees and expansive setbacks give it a park-like setting. There is plenty of room to run and jump and play and you don't even need to leave the house! When we do feel like getting away, our local city park is within walking distance and boasts such amenities as water slides, pools, soccer fields, picnic facilities and a nature trail. There is never a loss of activities to do or sights to see.

Our Neighborhood Park

In the summer, nothing brings the neighbors together and unites the neighborhood children better than the annual block party. Complete with a BBQ, giant inflatables and plenty of energy and excitement, this is a great way to catch up with our neighbors that we have not seen in a while as well as see how all of the children have grown! There has never been a shortage of children of all ages in our close-knit neighborhood. We are also very close to many small, boutique stores, one-of-a-kind eateries and several school playgrounds. In addition to the numerous playground opportunities, we also live in a neighborhood with a highly acclaimed school district. Hands down, it is always ranked as one of the best in the state.
