Suzanne’s Mom and Dad recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Suzanne's Father is a semi-retired accountant and her Mother is a homemaker. Both of Suzanne's parents are patient, loving, kind and generous with their time. They love being grandparents. They have strong values and a great faith in God. Being able to give them another grandchild would truly be an answer to all of their prayers.
Suzanne has two older brothers (identical twins) and one younger brother. They live with their families within minutes of Suzanne and Jim. Suzanne and Jim are extremely close to her brothers’ families and their children. Most weekends are spent getting together for family outings. Suzanne loves spending time with her daughter Kara and her nieces making up crazy dances, playing dress up, shopping, swimming, playing at the park and teaching them to cook and bake. Jim loves giving our nieces and nephews tractor rides and hanging out by the pond, fishing and swimming.
Kara and Her Cousins
Jim is the middle child. He has two older sisters and one younger brother. Jim and Suzanne get together often with Jim's family for birthday parties, picnics, and campouts. The children enjoy spending time at Jim and Suzanne's, playing hide and seek, football, tag, and kick the can in their large back yard. They also love taking nature walks with the dogs and fishing in the pond.
Jim's sister and her family own a horse stable about 30 minutes away, with over 50 horses and various other animals. All the children love spending time riding and petting the animals, swimming in the pool, and spending time in the country with their cousins.
Jim's Mom and Step-Dad have been married almost 30 years. They are retired schoolteachers and live just five minutes away. Jim's Dad and Step-Mom have been married 28 years. They live several states away. We keep in touch through phone calls and e-mails and they stay at our home when they come to town for visits. Jim's family can't wait to have a new baby in the family again and are very excited about our plan to adopt. They are warm and loving people, with so much to teach a child.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
Our home is set in a beautiful country setting with a view of mountains. It is very spacious and cozy. In addition to the everyday rooms, we also have an activity room located off our family room. It is equipped with all kinds of exercise equipment and a hot tub. Jim also built an additional garage on our property, complete with a workshop. When he has free time, he likes to spend time there building and fixing things or just tinkering.
View from Our Deck
There is also a pond on the property and several lakes within walking distance for swimming and fishing. Jim helped to design and build our home with children in mind. Our nieces and nephews spend lots of time visiting us. Our happiest times are when they come for weekends and extended vacations. They love spending time in our very spacious backyard, fishing in the pond, riding bikes, walking along the nature trails, and camping out. Everyone seems to find our home and property warm, inviting and fun. It is the perfect place for our gatherings with friends and family.
We have very nice neighbors. Our neighbors especially love Jim. In the winter he plows everyone's driveways and he is considered the "Mr. Fix It" of the neighborhood. They love our daughter Kara and are excited about our plans to adopt again.
