We are both extremely blessed with the love and affection of family.
Some of Our Extended Family at Our Wedding
Matt is number six of eight children. His parents raised five boys and three girls. Currently, there are sixteen grandchildren. All of the children live with in miles of each other, except for one of Matt's sisters whom is in the process of trying to move back home. Matt's family is a traditional Irish Catholic family who enjoys sharing old family traditions. One of their favorite holidays is of course St. Patrick's Day. The weekend of March 17th is an annual family reunion. The day begins with a downtown city parade, which the family participates in and just
celebrated their 25th year of involvement. The festivities continue with a luncheon of corn beef and cabbage and a day of poker playing and reuniting with cousins and extended relatives. Adoption is not an unfamiliar process to Matt's family. One of our nephew's was adopted from Russia 11 years ago and we have several cousins also adopted into the large, happy family. The family is welcoming the baby with open arms and share in our excitement.
Nicole is the baby with just one older sister. We share just one nephew and one niece on her side of the family. Nicole was also raised in a traditional family with strong beliefs. She was extremely fortunate as a child to have a stay at home mother. Her parents are both recently retired and today Grandma graciously accepts the responsibility to watch her grandchildren daily and is also anxiously awaiting the arrival of a baby. Grandpa also remains very active with his grandbabies while they both attend soccer games, dance lessons, Boy and Girl Scout meetings and still have time for the occasional afternoon nap and golf practice.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Cozy Home
We moved to a new community approximately 6 months ago. We are situated in the suburbs of a large Metropolitan city. The area was recently rated the #1 largest growing community Nation wide. We are surrounded by young families sharing the same dreams for their children as we are for ours. We are fortunate to reside in one of the state's most highly rated-school districts. We continually see new developments being built.
A Fun Park Close By
We dreamed of living in the subdivision years ago. While driving thru the neighborhood you will instantly notice the smiling faces of friends and families enjoying their homes. In the spring and summer there are plenty of outdoor activities. We enjoy spending our sunny Saturday afternoons lounging around the subdivision pool and grilling burgers in the evenings while playing a game of ball or just catching up on our weekly activities.
Our home was built to raise our children in and build memories. We have a spacious ranch with an open floor plan perfect for entertaining our families for the holidays. We have been busy decorating and making it our home and feel we have successfully done so. We have created a warm, safe and cozy atmosphere to welcome our loved ones and are anxiously awaiting a baby to share our home with.
