Our family all live within a 2 hour drive of our house, as a result, we get together very often, whether it be weekends at the cottage, summer festivals, sporting events, and of course every holiday. Dan has 2 brothers, two nieces and parents that have been married almost 40 years and don't forget Maggie the dog. Stephanie has one brother, 2 nephews, 1 niece and parents that have been married almost 50 years.
Stephanie’s Family at Great-Grandma’s House
When friends and family are around we spend many hours playing, pool, volleyball, cards, and just hanging out. Every holiday we get together (both families) whether it is Easter, Christmas or Thanksgiving…. Lots of fun and laughter is shared. A fun example is we have this obnoxious pair of Badger (our state team) slippers- very big and fluffy- and whoever received them the year before wraps them up and gives them to someone else the following year. In the old days we use to spend the holidays at our parents house….. now that we are older our parents like us to cook and be the host. (payback I guess)…..
Our family is all very excited about our plans for adoption and cannot wait to invite another member to our extended family.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
The community we live in was just ranked as one of the top 5 best places to live in the United States. We have great schools, parks, ski hills, ponds, lakes, biking, restaurants, and farmer's markets all within a short distance to our house. Our house has an acre lot with a trampoline and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. We have recently done a complete remodel with a contemporary design. Our home has 4 bedrooms and 5 baths. The baby's room will be right across the hall from big sister Emily and include his/her own bathroom.

The suburb we live in is only about 3 miles from the major highway, but feels like we are totally in the country. Everyone in our neighborhood has at least an acre wooded lot. Our subdivision lends itself, to consist
of, families with kids; due to the multiple parks, walking trails, and sledding hills.
We have soccer fields, baseball fields, and even a golf course right down the block. The outdoors here are beautiful with all the changing colors and seasons, everyone takes pride in the houses and yards. Our subdivision is very safe and fun. Everyone walks their dogs daily, and exercises very frequently. You see lots of games going on with children daily, from flashlight tag, to ghost in the graveyard, as well as numerous swimming pools, trampolines and nightly bon-fires. Holidays are always fun as well, from Fourth of July neighborhood parties to trick or treat, plus annual Christmas decorating contests. We took third place last year, but are working on our new design for next year already.
