Our Extended Families

Fred’s Family: We Weren’t Able to Make Christmas, so They Included Us as Balloons

We both have strong relationships with our parents and extended families, so your child will have a large family for love and support. We love gathering for holiday dinners, reunions, weddings, birthdays, and anything else that calls for celebration.

Fred is the third of five children, two of whom are adopted. He has an older brother and sister, two younger sisters, and nine nieces and nephews that range from 1 to 21 years of age. His parents are retired but love visiting family.

Sarah’s Extended Family at Christmas Dinner

Fred's family has always been close, and even though we live in different places, our holidays are alive with laughter and fun. After everyone has had way too much to eat, family fun begins. Children and parents alike play anything from hide and seek, ping pong, or Go Fish. Fred's family enjoys children so much, and we can't wait to include your child in all the fun and activities. We were unable to join Fred's family this year for Christmas due to weather. It was nice of them to include the three of us in the family picture, even if we are balloons?

Sarah is the oldest of three girls. She has two sisters that are excited about having a new niece or nephew. Her father is an architect and her mother is a nurse. They live two short hours away, and we all get together regularly. We go to rodeos, concerts, festivals and watch football while making her father's famous salsa.

Sarah has a close relationship with her extended family, which includes aunts, uncles, and cousins, many of whom are her closest friends. For 20 years, Sarah's extended family has gathered for an annual weeklong ski vacation. It provides us with tired legs, tired smiles, and sore stomachs from laughing at all of the practical jokes. We may be older, but we still have marshmallow fights and wild Guesstures games.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a log home on eight acres about 10 miles from town, so our home is quiet and peaceful-our very own retreat. We are surrounded by farmers' fields and mountains alive with deer, bald eagles, pheasants, elk, and other wildlife. Our log home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious loft where we spend lots of family time, a great play room, and a big yard for playing with friends. Your child would have the bedroom next to ours so we can give him/her bedtime stories and snuggles.

Backpacking in the Mountains Near Our Home

We live in a small community of approximately 35,000 people and are surrounded by mountains. The community is large enough to meet new people, but small enough that we see familiar faces when walking down the street. We have several excellent schools in our town, both public and private, so lots of extracurricular activities are available. We have a relatively short summer so our community packs in a lot of festivals, fairs, farmers' markets, and outdoor concerts during the warm months.
