Mike is the oldest of two children. His sister is married and has four children. Mike's mother passed away many years ago and his dad is remarried. He has a step-brother and step-sister and they each have four children. Mike's father is the owner of a manufacturing company. His step-mother is retired and enjoys spending her free time traveling to visit all her children and grandchildren. Growing up, Mike remembers his summers at the lake with his whole family. The lake brought everyone together. The days were spent swimming and boating and the nights were spent playing card games and laughing around the dinner table. This is a tradition that continues today and we hope it continues for many generations. Mike's family can't wait to meet the newest grandchild and the cousins are excited to have a new playmate.
Carrie’s Extended Family
Carrie is the oldest of three children. She has a sister who is married and a brother who is still looking for Mrs. Right. Her parents have been married for 36 years. Carrie's dad is self-employed as a machinist. Her mom is a kindergarten teacher. Carrie has a wonderful relationship with her family. She sees her family every opportunity she can and they talk on the phone many times throughout the week. Holidays and special occasions have everyone driving or flying back and forth to see one another. They are looking forward to welcoming and spoiling the first grandchild to the family.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
We purchased our home 3 years ago with hopes of filling it with the sounds of children. We can't wait to have the pitter-patter of little feet in our house. We have a beautiful split-level home with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on a quiet cul-de-sac in a newly developed neighborhood that is full of other children to play with. We have an inviting kitchen that opens to a separate dining area and living room. The master bedroom, guest bedroom and soon to be nursery are all on the main level. The nursery is painted yellow and has a large window that lets in a lot of natural light. Downstairs we have a den that will quickly turn into a playroom and we have turned the bedroom on the lower level into an office.
Our Community Pool
We specifically picked this neighborhood because of the reputation of the local schools and the proximity to many museums, parks, and other recreational and educational activities. We have a neighborhood playground that has swings, slides, and a picnic area. It is a very safe neighborhood and when the weather is nice you see many families out riding bikes or walking. During the summer months, we enjoy spending time at the community pool close to our house. The pool has activities for all age groups and age-appropriate areas to swim and play in.
Our town is very diverse in cultures and you will often hear many different languages spoken. Throughout the year, the city has many festivals that are culturally rich and educational. Our city has the warm atmosphere and feel of a small town but the benefits of a large city.
