Family Reunion

We are truly blessed with an extremely close and supportive family. Our parents, Jeff’s brother and wife, and Jeff's grandmother all live within an hour of us and we are often spending time together. We do everything from helping each other on home improvement projects to hanging out and seeing a movie. Also, since Debbie’s parents live so close, we usually have dinner with them at least once a week. Although Debbie's sister and family do not live as close, we treasure every moment we spend with them and see them each time an opportunity arises and on major holidays.

When we mentioned to our families that we were considering adding to the family through the miracle of adoption they were ecstatic. Our families have been a constant source of support through our lives and have been incredibly supportive of our decision to build our family through adoption. They are constantly reading books and websites, dreaming of the day this child joins our family. We often receive phone calls of love and support from them and all of our extended family members who are also eagerly awaiting that day.

Our Home

We live in a lovely, quiet neighborhood that includes many families with young children. Our street ends with two cul-de-sacs where the children of our neighborhood safely laugh and play. The children enjoy bike riding, sports, and playing in the many neighborhood pools.

Although our street is quiet with a small town feel, it is tucked away in a busy part of town that includes many family-friendly activities. There are state and local parks nearby that include nature trails, horse trails, canoeing, boating, fishing, RC car tracks, playgrounds and a BMX bike track. The beach, the zoo, art and science museums, and the aquarium are all a short drive away. Our local Museum includes Kids in Charge where children are free to explore different careers and interactive hands-on science activities while having fun and learning. A kid's favorite restaurant, Chuck E Cheese's, is only a few minutes from the house.

We live in a safe and spacious two-story home with a large fenced in backyard. Our deck often accommodates large family gatherings.

We have a small vegetable garden, trees for climbing, and plenty of room for outdoor games. One of our shared hobbies is renovating the house; we enjoy the time it lets us spend together and blending our individual tastes into something new and exciting. Our current home renovation project has been the child's room. We have had countless hours of fun deciding how to best use the space to accommodate a newborn child and all of their needs, while allowing the room to growth with the child and become a place of fun.
