Our Extended Families and Family Traditions

With Rebecca’s Brothers on Christmas Eve

Rebecca is the oldest of four children. She has 3 younger brothers. Two of her brothers are in college and one graduated from college two years ago. None are married or have children yet. Rebecca's parents have been married 34 years. Rebecca's father is a mailman who loves to set up his trains at Christmas time. He loves to show off his display and point out all of the special little details. Every year is a little different and everyone looks forward to hearing the theme announced after Thanksgiving. Rebecca's mother is a teacher who loves to bake. Her cookies are famous with family and friends. Her future grandchild is sure to have a favorite cookie that will no doubt be named after him/her. Rebecca's family turns their home into a winter wonderland at Christmas time. There are always a lot of lights, decorations, cookies and holiday music. On Christmas Eve the family gets together for a warm fuzzy night of snacking, exchanging gifts and re-telling favorite Christmas memories. The first Christmas after Jeff and Rebecca started dating Jeff compared her family's house to Who-Ville.

Jeff’s Family at Our Wedding

Jeff is the youngest of four children. He has two sisters and a brother. Both his sisters are married with two children and his brother is married with three children. Jeff's parents have been married for 48 years. His mother and father are both retired. They often are at home babysitting grandchildren and loving every minute of it. Jeff's mother and father love to brag and tell stories about their amazing grandchildren. Most of Jeff's family live close by and often get together for parties, holidays and just regular old visits. Christmas day is the big tradition with Jeff's family. The whole family meets for a big dinner with Jeff's parents traditional family recipes. It is a fun day filled with laughter and stories. The kids are always so excited and run around all day on a holiday high. The family usually gathers around the table to play one of the brand new games.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

Three and a half years ago after much research and looking we found our home. We loved our home since the moment we saw it, it is so warm and inviting. The floor plan is open, spacious and bright. We believe it is the perfect set-up to raise a family. It is a one level ranch with three bedrooms, a living room, family room, kitchen and a nice sized fenced in back yard. We like to decorate our home with lots of photos of family and friends.

The Baby Ducks at the Park by Our Home

We are very close to the city, just a train ride away. We are also very close to lots of beaches, trails and beautiful parks. We have the most beautiful park less than 10 minutes from our home that has a great swing set/jungle gym, picnic area and large fenced in zoo with lots of animals that you can feed. Our local library has wonderful programs for toddlers and children.

There are a lot of young children in our neighborhood. You always see them riding bikes, playing ball, or making villages with chalk on the driveways. On Halloween the streets are filled with tons of trick or treaters. Our doorbell never stops ringing.
