Our Extended Families

Suzanne’s Extended Family

We can hardly wait to introduce this child to our families. Our parents are active and fun. We enjoy traveling to Florida in the spring with Suzanne's parents. Suzanne and her Dad enjoy the roller coasters! We also look forward to spending a week each summer at the beach house with Robbie's parents. Robbie's Dad is looking forward to taking the child fishing. The child will have aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby - oh, and an assortment of pets to play with. Both sets of grandparents live on country acreage. There is so much room to run and play! Birthdays and holidays are big celebrations. Because our families live near each other and near us, we enjoy combined celebrations with the whole gang.

Robbie’s Extended Family

Suzanne, her mother, and her sister have a tradition of shopping together the Friday night and Saturday after Thanksgiving. What fun we have! Christmas in our family is all about the kids. We hit as many stores as possible searching for cool toys and clothes. There's always lots of laughs when we get together. We look forward to adding this child to our Christmas list.

We added a new Thanksgiving tradition this year as we fed those in need in our parents' community. We all got together at church and prepared and served the meal. It is so important to share with others and we look forward to teaching this child the meaning of being thankful and giving to others. We hope to carry on this tradition for years to come.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live on a cul-de-sac in South Carolina. Our home is 2800 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, a large kitchen, a den, formal living room, formal dining room, office, and finished room over the garage. It is furnished with antiques and other items which have been given to us by cherished family members. The piano is the same one Suzanne played on as a child and teenager. The converted sewing machine table in the den is one on which Suzanne's mother learned to sew. The baby furniture belonged to Robbie's aunt and was used by his sister when her children were infants. Suzanne's mother has applied a fresh coat of paint and it's ready for this child. The bassinet was used by Robbie and his sister when they were newborns. We so look forward to watching this child sleep there.

Our Backyard

We have a large backyard complete with a soccer net and a swing set and there's lots of room to play. Some of the boys in our neighborhood play basketball in our driveway. They even ring our doorbell and ask if Robbie can come out and play!

Several families live in our neighborhood and the children attend award-winning schools. Our child will be able to walk to elementary school and we attend a church nearby. There is little traffic and we enjoy walking in our neighborhood and surrounding areas.

Our neighborhood is close to a large lake where boating, swimming, fishing, and skiing are popular activities. Bowling, movie theaters, restaurants, and shopping are nearby and we look forward to family outings.
