Our Extended Families

With Billy’s Sisters at a Family Party

Billy was raised in a traditional Baptist family. His parents were married for over 50 years. He has four older sisters, as he is the only boy. All of his sisters are married with children. Billy's mom is retired and enjoys nothing more than attending her grandson's baseball and soccer games. All seven of her grandchildren hold a special place in her heart, as she strives to make separate memories with all of them. She loves to travel and is very active in her church. We are very proud of the values she has instilled in all of her children. Two of Billy's sisters live close and we often share family dinners together. The entire family spends holidays and special occasions together. Billy's dad died a few years ago, but his presence is still felt in the family. They love to share their favorite stories about him and how he always made the family laugh. Billy has fond memories of fishing with his dad and hanging out with his "older" sisters and her friends. We love having a large extended family, as there is never a lack of entertainment when we are all together! Billy's family is very excited about having a new baby to welcome to the family.

Paige’s Extended Family

Paige is the older of two children. She was raised in a loving and supportive family where education and hard work were stressed. Her parents have been married for 34 years. Their long lasting marriage has always centered on their children. Her parents were and still are very involved and supportive of whatever endeavor their children come across. They have loved being grandparents for the first time and have even added on to their home to make room for more grandbabies and their growing family. Paige's parents actually suggested adoption to Billy and Paige, unaware they had already discussed it! Her brother is married and has a two year old daughter, Haley. She keeps everyone entertained and is spoiled rotten by her "Mimi and Poppy." Paige's brother was in the Army and spent two years in Iraq. While he was Iraq, her family focused on spending time with his daughter and counting down the days for his safe return. His deployment made them realize how important family is and how even the smallest events should be cherished. Another very important family member is Paige's grandmother. She has always been not only a wonderful grandmother, but also a great friend to Paige and they still remain very close. Some of Paige's best childhood memories are of spending the night with her grandmother. She has passed on her passion of cooking great homemade goodies to Paige and is always happy to share a great recipe!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in North Carolina and can't imagine calling anywhere else home. We can drive to the mountains or the beach in just a few hours. One of the reasons we bought our home was because we knew it would be the perfect place to raise children. Our home is located in a quiet country setting. We live on private road surrounded by woods that include fishing ponds and access to our local river. We love spending time in our large yard that includes eight acres of land. We recently put up a swing in one of our old oak trees and love sitting outside watching our dogs play. We've picked out the perfect place in our yard for a swing set! We are in a great location as both of our parents, much of our extended family, and our friends live within a short driving distance of our home. Our home is also right outside of a university town that offers lots of activities and caters to families. After a long day at work, we enjoy coming home to our slice of heaven!

Community Playground

We live in a spacious two-story home that includes three bedrooms and a large kitchen and family room. We have lots of windows so that we can always enjoy outside. Our master bedroom is upstairs and is right across the hall from the nursery. We also have a downstairs bedroom and a spare room that is waiting to come to life as a playroom! We have a huge screened porch that our dogs love to call home during the day. Since we have a large yard and accommodating home, we often entertain friends and family. We have hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas several times for our families, complete with cooking the turkey and ham! We had a Memorial Day cookout for everyone this year and had over 60 friends and family attend. We had a wonderful time and plan to continue this new tradition!
