Steve is the baby of the family with an older brother and sister. His brother is married with three children - two girls and a boy. His sister is married with two sons.
Steve has fond memories of growing up in a small town. His family lived in a farming
community where they ran a nursery business. Steve and his
siblings would work at the nursery after school and during summer vacation. Steve remembers his mother preparing homemade dinners and the family always sat down together to eat and talk about their day. Family togetherness was and still is very important. Steve and his siblings made their careers in the family business until the land was recently sold to a land developer.
Stefanie’s Family
Steve's family is very close. His parents are now enjoying retirement and his sister's family remains in the area and we all get together often. His eighty-nine year old grandmother also lives nearby, and she is already crocheting baby blankets in anticipation of a new great-grandchild. Although Steve's brother's family recently moved to start a nursery of their own, and do not live as nearby as they once did, we remain great friends and stay in close contact.
Stefanie is the younger of two children. She has an older brother who is married with two stepdaughters, a daughter, and a son on the way.
Stefanie's parents are no longer together, but they have both found love again. Stef's father was a police officer in a large metropolitan city before he retired and moved to Florida where he now resides with his wife. Stef's mom will soon be retired and cannot wait to have another grandbaby to dote on and spend lots of time. She is in a loving relationship with Joe, to whom she is engaged.
Stef is extremely close with her mother and other extended family that live nearby. She shares a special friendship with both her mother and her aunt. Her brother's family lives nearby and her cousin's family recently moved into their
development, so they are all excited for a new cousin to join the family.
It's an understatement to say that both families are ecstatic about our decision to adopt. This child will be surrounded by the love of a great-grandmother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who cannot wait to be a part of his/her life!
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
Our home is a cozy two-story single-family colonial home situated on a third of an acre located in the suburbs of a large metropolitan city. We have three bedrooms and two and one-half baths, a large backyard, and a finished basement that is just waiting to be filled with toys!
Relaxing on Our Front Porch
We feel fortunate to live in one of the state's best school districts, and there are many children of all ages that your child could grow up
and play with. We live in a very supportive and family/community
oriented neighborhood. Annual events such as town market days, Harvest day, hayrides, parades and many, many other activities cater to children of all ages in our neighborhood. Santa even drives by on a fire truck every Christmas Eve! We live nearby two large state parks, tennis courts, walking trails, two large malls, and even a children's amusement park. In addition, just a short drive takes us into the city where there are numerous historical landmarks, museums, and the city zoo.
We love living in our neighborhood because it is close to all the conveniences of a large city, but it is also very quiet and peaceful. We love to sit on our porch and listen to the birds or the distant sound of the trains passing or watch the deer and squirrels run around our backyard. We feel this would be a wonderful place to raise a child. He or she will have all the conveniences and opportunities a large city offers, along with the chance of growing up around all of the beauties of nature.
