Our families are an incredibly important part of our lives. They're the rock that are always there for us and the ones who made us who we are today.
With Courtney’s Sisters and Brother-in-Law
David grew up in Colorado in a very close and traditional family. He has very happy memories of playing with his siblings and going on a lot of family outings. He is still very close to his family. They live in Denver where his brother is an anesthesiologist, his older sister is a real estate agent, and his younger sister is a stay at home mother. He especially loves visiting the newest members of his extended family: his younger sister's son and two daughters. He never gets tired of seeing their excitement when they see "Uncle Dave" walk through the door. But we're not sure who's more excited…the kids, or David! He really loves those kids dearly and relishes every moment that he gets to spend with them.
Courtney was born in New York City and was raised in suburban New Jersey. Her parents now live on the Jersey Shore - a place that we love to visit. Her middle sister lives in San Francisco with her husband while her youngest sister is in her first year of a residency program in psychiatry. Most of her extended family, aunts, uncles and cousins live in the East Coast where we visit with them during the holidays.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
We recently moved into our new home that we bought for one simple reason: to raise a family. However, an extra fringe benefit we've experienced is the joy we get out of living where we do. With a beautiful backyard garden, a ton of room, and a 'mini-park' as our front yard (there is no street in front of the house…the park literally starts at our front door), we have a great house for raising a family.
View from the Nursery
Our community was designed specifically with young families in mind. In the very center of the community are an elementary school and an 11 acre park with a playground. We also have very active babysitting and play groups, as well as a nanny share network.
We live in what we see as the best of both worlds. Our neighborhood has a safe, "small town" feel perfectly suited for raising a family, but we're still a short 15 minute drive to the city where we'll introduce your child to culture and all of the attractions that a major city has to offer.
