Lesley and Aaron: We have four generations of family that live within an hour of us. They are a huge part of our lives. We place a high priority on family time and have dinner with at least one of our families every Sunday. We also see our families frequently to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries. Our families provide us with a great support system and strong family values. Our families are supportive, excited, and enthusiastic about our adoption plans. They are all looking forward to having a new baby join our family.
Aaron's Extended Family
Lesley: I grew up in a very traditional family. I lived with both of my parents and my younger brother. We ate dinner as a family every night. We took vacations several times a year. My parents were active and involved in every aspect of my life-from school to sports to activities. My parents divorced when I was in college. My father remarried several years later. In time, my father and stepmother had two sons. Today I am very close to both of my parents and my stepmother. I am also close to all three of my brothers. My oldest brother is married and has a 20 month old son. My two youngest brothers are in middle school.
Aaron: I also grew up in a very traditional family. I lived with both of my parents and my younger brother. My childhood was focused on playing sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, and golf. My parents were always at my games to cheer me on. My brother and I loved when our parents and grandparents would take us to baseball games at Yankee Stadium. Lesley and I have season tickets to the Yankees and look forward to bringing your child with us to cheer the Yanks on. My parents divorced when I was in high school. Both of my parents remarried when I was in college. I am very close to both of my parents and stepparents.
Our House & Neighborhood
Our Home
We live in a coastal town in Connecticut about 35 miles north of New York City. Our house is a spacious Colonial with four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Our house has an open floor plan with a large living room, dining room, eat in kitchen and sunroom. The sunroom will soon be turned into a playroom. Our kitchen and sunroom both open up onto our deck. We love to barbecue and often eat on our deck in the spring and summer.
Our Swingset
We live in a close knit family oriented neighborhood where there are children of all ages. There are swing sets and sandboxes everywhere! We spend many weekend afternoons having barbecues with our neighbors. Every year our neighborhood has a summer block party complete with potato sack races, three legged races, and water balloon fights. Our neighborhood also has an Easter Egg Hunt, fireworks on the Fourth of July, and a Halloween costume party. We can walk to your child's future elementary school where Lesley teaches second grade. A playground, a swim and tennis club, a library, and several sports fields are also in walking distance.
Our neighborhood is a ten-minute car ride to parks, beaches, shopping malls, movie theaters, museums, restaurants, and most importantly, grandma's house.
We love our home and our neighborhood and believe there is no better place to raise a child. We are looking forward to introducing a child to our home, our neighborhood, and most especially, our hearts.
