Cheryl�s family is a rather large family due to various marriages. She has a Father, one brother, one sister, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, one niece, two nephews, two niece-in-laws and two great nephews. That just includes the closest part of the family. There are many aunts, uncles and cousins around as well. Most of the family lives close to each other and we spend summer holidays on picnics. We try to spend the holidays together each year. On Christmas Eve, the family gets together to celebrate with a traditional Polish meal. We have sauerkraut soup, pierogies, baked haddock, peas/corn, and potatoes. The sauerkraut soup takes a little getting used to, but otherwise is ok.

Scott�s family is smaller because he is an only child. He has a Mother, Father, Aunt, Uncle, cousin and cousin-in-law. As small as that family is, it is big on heart. They try to get together for various summer activities and always on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.

When our families get together there is a lot of laughter and talking. We play Uno and Yahtzee and sometimes Scrabble. Our families are very supportive of our adoption plan. They have already stated that they will welcome a child into their home as one of the family. Our families have a lot of love to go around and are ready and willing to share it.

Our Home

We live in a neighborhood that has a strong sense of community. The area is culturally diverse and there are many young families living in the area. Each year the downtown area holds several parades: St. Patrick's Day Parade, 4th of July Parade, Labor Day Parade, and a Christmas Parade complete with Santa on the train. Couples and children can go on horse drawn carriage rides in winter and shop at outdoor vendors in the Winter Wonderland weekend in early December.

Our Backyard and Deck Area

There are several schools in the area and all are highly rated and well funded. There are also several private schools available. Many tutoring options are available should the need arise. Several nationally renowned colleges and universities are in our area as well.

Our home is a three level split entry house. We have 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. We have a large family room in the basement with a wood burning fireplace and a large game room upstairs that houses a pool table and a ping pong table. Our house is in a quiet cul-de-sac and the location is private. Our neighbor's kids are often seen playing in the cul-de-sac; riding their bikes or driving their Jeeps. We have several neighborhood cats that come by daily to say hello and get petted.

We attend a United Methodist Church that is just a 10 minute drive from our house. We are surrounded by amusement parks, museums, theaters, monuments, and baseball and football venues. The options are limitless.
