Both of our families live just a few miles away from us. We are a very tight nit family and love to spend time together playing cards, board games, shopping, cooking, and playing golf. Not only do we love spending every holiday together, but we spend most of our weekends together too.
Nelson is the younger of two children and has a very supportive family. He is very close to his older brother Nathan. They love to spend time together during the holidays playing practical jokes on everyone and watching football games together, Go Sooners! Nathan, his wife, Tori, and their son Logan, live two hours away and come into town at least once a month to visit.
We all get together at his parents' home every Fourth of July to swim, cookout, and watch the fireworks, it has always been a huge holiday for our family and Nelson's aunts and grandmother also come to have fun with us that weekend.
Nelson's mom is a middle school English teacher and his father is a retired nurse. They both love to garden and cook. We get together and have family dinners once a week to share our lives with each other and to eat, one of our favorite things to do! They absolutely adore their grandchildren and cannot wait to spread their love even more!
Sabrina’s Extended Family
Sabrina is the eldest of two children and has a younger sister, Nikki. Nikki lives just a couple hours away and travels home almost once a month to visit. Nikki is in college and is sharing in the family's love of healthcare and hopes to become a nurse. Sabrina and Nikki grew up very close to each other and love to go shopping together and play cards.
Sabrina's mother is a nurse and is also the administrator of the hospital where we live. Sabrina's father is a pharmacist at the hospital as well. Sabrina is very close with her family and spent many childhood days fishing with her father and grandfather, she is the "son her father never had" and loves every minute of it. Her favorite time each year growing up was the annual Father/Daughter Fishing Tournament at the area lake. Her mother, Jackie, and her are also very close and are not only mother and daughter but are best friends. Sabrina's parents are always there for us and are so excited to become grandparents again!
One of the biggest celebrations on Sabrina's side of the family is Christmas. All of the extended family gets together to have dinner and open presents together, and believe us, with over 30 people there, it is an amazing feat, but it is the best time. Two of Sabrina's cousins are adopted and they are all very supportive and excited about sharing their lives with a new baby.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
We bought our home in Oklahoma a couple of years ago. We chose the perfect home where we would have plenty of room to expand our family. It is a new construction three bedroom, two bath home with an open floor plan, and a wonderful kitchen where we love to cook. The best thing about our home is our backyard and all the space we have to play outdoors. There is two acres of grass to run in, flowers to smell, a garden to pick, a fun new swing set and fort, and many areas to just sit together and enjoy the outdoors. Our home is further out of town so we get to enjoy the peace and quiet, starry nights, the many trees, a pond, and lots of wildlife. Last Christmas there was even a family of deer in our front yard, as well as turkeys, peacocks, and many other birds that also visit.
Our Wonderfully Spacious Backyard
We live in a new, small subdivision that has a half mile loop that is a great place to walk and ride bikes. Most evenings we run into many of our neighbors and their children doing the same. Our community is a great place to raise children. Both of us grew up in this town and have many friends that are still around. We even have three of our high school classmates living in our neighborhood. It is a great place to live and grow with so many people looking after you.
