Our Extended Families

Rebecca’s Parents

Rebecca is the second of five girls. Rebecca's dad, mom, and three of her four sisters live in town. The fourth sister is less than an hour away. They love to get together and usually end up playing games and laughing around the big kitchen table. Birthdays are always a cause for celebration, so with a big family, they have excuses to celebrate often. Rebecca's mom cooks the meal and serves it on the "You are Special" plate.

John’s Extended Family

John is the youngest of seven children. This explains his laid-back, go-with-the-flow attitude. John's family is more spread out, but they still make it a priority to spend time together. They enjoyed a family reunion at a lodge in Missouri this last summer. John and Rebecca host the Thanksgiving meal for John's family every other year. It's always a great time. Soon after the meal, the table is cleared for games. The family stays around for several days enjoying each other's company.

Together, John and Rebecca have sixteen nieces and nephews. John is known as "eagle man" by the kids for his funny "eagle man" face. John and Rebecca's families are extremely excited about their plans to adopt. They can hardly wait for the arrival of a new family member.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

Our home is located on a quiet residential street. We have many young families as neighbors and enjoy time outside talking with the adults and playing with the neighborhood kids. We specifically bought a home on a cul-de-sac so it would be a good place for kids to ride bikes. We were also drawn to this house because of the school district our kids will attend.

Playground at the Park

Our home is a four bedroom split-level. One of our hobbies is working on our home. We enjoyed gutting and renovating the kitchen two years ago by refinishing the cabinets and adding hardwood floors. Friends describe our home as peaceful and welcoming. We have a bedroom that is tailor-made for a nursery and are excited about getting it ready for your child.
