Our Extended Families

Scott’s Family

Scott is the middle child, with an older brother and younger sister. His parents retired to a warmer climate, but are only a few hours away. Fortunately his brother and his wife, sister, two nieces and brother-in-law live nearby, so we get to spend time with them often. Our family is together for every holiday and birthday.

Jill’s Family

Jill comes from a very close-knit family. Her parents live only fifteen minutes away and we see them at least once a week. Her brother and niece live about an hour and forty-five minutes away and come up at least once a month. We enjoy spending every holiday and birthday celebration together, not to mention summer barbecues around our pool. Jill's family and Scott's family get along really well so for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Easter we get to spend it all together. Jill also has a lot of aunts, uncles and cousins who we see a few times a year and some even make it in for the holidays.

Everyone is excited about our plans to adopt another child.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a lovely three-bedroom, two-bath ranch house out in the country. We share our house with our two-year son Keegan and our animals, which include two dogs, two cats, a bird and fish. Our house sits on about two acres that is open and lined with pine trees. We have a pool in the back yard, which is fenced in for safety and a nice size swing set. The only thing missing is a sandbox, which hopefully will be built this spring. We also live within walking distance to the elementary school and parks.

At the Halloween Parade with Jill’s Brother and Niece

The community that we live in is very family-oriented: they have family fun days in the park along with movies in the park at night. There are parades, hayrides and fairs. We are very fortunate to live in a town where there is always something to do.
