Family is the center of our lives. We are both extremely fortunate to have an unusually close, special bond with our families. Our parents have raised wonderful children and are a major reason why we have a strong sense of family values.
Kelly was raised by very loving, strong, generous parents. Along with 2 sisters, she grew up with a stay at home mom who was always there either playing, or baking, or doing arts & crafts. There was never a shortage of kisses, hugs or "I love you's". Kelly's parents have a high regard for education, work ethic, morals and values. They have helped her to become the individual she is today.
Her sisters are her best friends. Not only do we spend holidays together but every day activities as well. We have two nieces, who are the daughters of her older sister and her husband, and they are an absolute joy to be around. Her younger sister lives less than a mile away from us so we see each other many times throughout the week.
Steve's Extended Family
Steve is the oldest of two children. He has a sister Robyn, who lives in California with her husband BJ and their son, Azlan who is three years old. Steve's parents have been married for 40 years and we are fortunate that they live close enough to see them whenever we want. Both Steve and his Dad are huge football fans, so they spend time watching Sunday football games together.
We are so blessed to have our family close by. With the exception of Steve's sister and her family everyone lives within 20 minutes of our house. We spend a great deal of time with both our families.
We have also been blessed with wonderful friends, who enhance our lives and who feel like extended family. We have friends we've known since childhood, friends we've met while traveling, and friends we've met through work. Most of our friends have kids, and recently, many of them are having babies. Some friends have made us Godparents and some have made us honorary "Aunt" Kelly and "Uncle" Steve.
Our House & Neighborhood
Our Home in the Fall
We have lived in our current house for a little over two years now. When our home search began the most important things we were looking for in a neighborhood was strong public school systems and houses with open outdoor space, each aspect considered with the thought of raising a family; and that is exactly what we found. The elementary school in our neighborhood is the best in the area, and just around the corner from us.
Uncle Steve and Carly Playing in Our Pool
Our house is a beautiful house in a lovely neighborhood with lots of children. We have 8 spacious rooms, three of which are bedrooms. We have a lovely sunroom than overlooks our amazing backyard that is designed to have children running around. Our house is located on 1.1 acres of land surrounded by large trees. Our front yard is large and open and our back yard is all about being outside and active. We have a pool that we use extensively during the summer months with all of our family and friends.
We are also located less than half a mile from a large town park which on warm days is filled with families and their children and dogs flying kites, riding bikes, or walking on the paths. During the summer months there are a few different fair / festival events that are held there, bringing people from all over the state to our little area.
