Fred is the second oldest of six children. Fred and his siblings are all close in age; they have many common interests and they share many of the same ideas. The holidays are a large family tradition that brings us all together each year to celebrate the good times and being thankful for all we have. At Christmas time, we all take part in cooking a dish to pass, an ornament to put on the tree that we
have made and or purchased. Every birthday is celebrated with having the "Birthday Dinner" of choice. Even though his siblings are not all in the area, we have the opportunity to email each other, as well as talking on the phone. As a family, they lived in Venezuela and Texas before moving to Illinois.
Maureen’s Family
Maureen was born and raised in New Jersey. Her father's job moved her to Illinois. Her older brother Jay still lives in New Jersey, we have a great relationship with him even though he is so far away. We spend many hours on the phone and emails are often because of the distance. Marty her younger brother has been married for 19 years to Patty. They have a son Marty, Jr. and daughter Kim and grandson Trey. Marty and his family live close by, so we are able to spend a lot of time together as a family with birthdays, holidays, mini vacations for a long weekend at the boat. Auntie Moe as they call her just loves being with them. She has always played a large role in her nephew and nieces life and now has a great nephew who she just adores.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
We live in a neighborhood that is filled with many children from infants to high school ages. We live in a three-bedroom ranch with a fireplace in the family room. This room is our favorite and the fireplace gets a lot of use during the winter months. It is the room where everyone gathers each time we have company. The back yard is fenced in for the dog and she loves being outside with us in the warmer weather.
At a Local Park
We live in a very good school district; the park and library are within walking distance. The community has many activities for children of all ages. Every year one of our favorite things to do with friends and family is set up the lawn chairs and watch the fire works from the back yard. This now seems to be a tradition on the 4th of July for us.
