Our Extended Families

Christmas with Our Families

Linda: I am the older of two children. I have one brother who is married with two young children. I am the godmother to my brother's daughter and I see my brother and his family often. My parents have been married over thirty- eight years and live two blocks away from us. My father is retired from a successful career in sales and my mother continues to be a fantastic and loving homemaker. My parents are often over for dinner and we love to have barbecues and play badminton with the entire family. I continue to be very close with my family and we vacation with them also. I have fond memories of my childhood as we often had pool and slumber parties and went on fantastic vacations. My parents along with my brother and his family are extremely eager to have a new addition in the family are so excited for us to have a child.

Holiday in the City with Family and Friends

Tom: I am the younger of two children. I have one brother who is married with one child. I am the godfather to my brother's daughter and enjoy seeing her often as my family all lives within fifteen minutes of our home. My mother is a retired management executive who remarried a great man after the loss of my father. The marriage has provided me with a new extended family who Linda and I enjoy spending time with. We especially enjoy spending time at the beach with my extended family and mother every summer. My mother's home is always active as there are over ten grandchildren in our family ranging in age from two years old to twelve. Some of my best memories of childhood revolve around holiday family gatherings or summer barbecues and I am eager to share these experiences with a child. My family is so excited to have a new grandchild in the family and I anticipate much love upon his/her arrival.

We both are very fortunate in that we have had very happy, loving childhoods and continue to have a strong bond with our families. Our parents have set a great example of how to raise a family. We hope to raise a child with the same unconditional love, respect, support and guidance our families gave us.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We purchased a 1930's Tudor home approximately seven years ago on a quiet tree lined street in suburb outside the city. Over the years we have renovated our home to become the cozy and attractive house we have today. Tom completed much of the renovations, which makes it even more special. We have three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a finished basement we will probably turn into a large toy room. A cozy nursery with beautiful furniture is already set up and waiting for a child to sleep and play in it. We also have a nice patio in which we often have friends and family over for dinner to enjoy the weather during the summer months. Tom has a garden full of vegetables and herbs he enjoys planting and caring for.

BBQ at Our Home

We love our neighborhood as it has a mix of different ages with many young families with children moving in. We have fantastic neighbors who are always willing to help. Our next -door neighbor cares for our dog while we are away and we often attend her summer pool parties. We have a park and playground at the end of our street and a small movie theatre and ice cream store within walking distance. During the summer months we often walk to see a movie or to get ice cream. We also enjoy attending the annual Memorial and Labor Day Parades that run through our town. Although the educational system is good in our town, we would choose to send your child to a private school for the best education. The nice thing about where we live is that we are not far away from the beach, city or country and often travel to these destinations on the weekends.
