We are both close to our extended families and spend as much time as possible with them. Tim is the first of three children. He has two younger sisters both of which he is close to, his oldest sister is married and is an elementary school teacher and has one little girl. His youngest sister is engaged and is a nurse. She just bought a house. Tim has enjoyed helping them fix it up to make it their home. Tim's parents are both retired and now enjoy watching their grandchild and family get-togethers. Tim has fond memories of his childhood and traditions such as decorating the family Christmas tree that are still carried on today. All of his family lives within ten miles of each other and are excited about adding another grandchild to the family. They share and support our adoption plans.
Gayle’s Family
Gayle is one of two children and has a twin sister. Her sister is employed by a child development center and both she and Gayle are very close. Her parents raised Gayle with Christian values and always stress the importance of family. Gayle's mother was adopted as an infant and has fond memories of her own childhood. Gayle has lots of memories growing up like camping, boating, family cookouts and numerous church functions. Gayle is close with all her family. All of them live within a short distance of each other. They too are extremely excited about our decision to adopt and can't wait to have a grandchild to spoil!
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
We recently purchased a new house in a very family oriented neighborhood. It is a beautiful three story, four bedrooms, two and half bath house in the suburbs. Our house has a very open floor plan, large rooms and a third floor that is awaiting a transformation into a child's play room.
Feeding Horses Behind Our House
Our house sits on a large lot overlooking a beautiful horse farm and we often feed the horses right from the back of our yard. We love our neighborhood because of its sense of community and family. There are many couples with young children (and future playmates) that can be seen just about everywhere in our neighborhood even right next door. We have gotten to know our neighbors very well and we can be found helping each other with everything from watching children to building swing sets. We have back yard barbeques and get-togethers on a frequent basis and consider our neighbors part of our extended family. Our community schools are considered to be one of the best on the east coast and voted the third best community to raise a family on the east coast. All of our neighbors are aware of our decision to adopt and are extremely excited and can't wait to get to work on a swing set!
