Sheri was raised in upstate New York and is the oldest of two
children. Her younger sister, Lisa, is two years younger and the two siblings are very close. Sheri's parents are still working but visit at least once a month. Although Sheri's parents live a few hours away, most if not all holidays and special occasions are celebrated together. Sheri and her mom are "best" friends who talk several times a day just to say "hi". Our family takes several trips each year. For the past ten years in July, we head up north to Maine to vacation on the beach and in December during the holiday time, we also head north to Vermont for some skiing together. Recently, our families traveled together to Aruba during the winter to escape the cold. Sheri is fortunate to still have her grandparents on her mother's side of the family who she is very close with and talks to regularly. Sheri's grandparents have even made a trip to Boston recently to see her new home and visit with Sam, whom they adore.
Some of Our Family in New York
Matt was also raised in New York and is the youngest of two
children. Matt has an older sister who is 20 months older than him. Matt's mom is still working part time in the middle school and loves to travel the world. Matt's dad passed away a few years ago, but spent his career in the Air Force. He retired a full bird colonel after 30 years to spend more time with his family and became a pharmacist working at a local pharmacy. Matt's dad was his "hero".
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
Our home is located in a suburb twenty minutes outside Boston, Massachusetts in a neighborhood that we just love. Wide open streets with sidewalks with lots of children playing everywhere. As we drive around our neighborhood, it's amazing to see the number of swing sets in our neighbor's backyards. We live in a 4 bedroom colonial on about an acre of land. When we moved in, instead of setting up a formal dining room, we turned it into a playroom for Sam. We figured there was no need for formal entertaining at this point in our lives.
Playroom in Our Home
Our town is full of ball fields, parks and lots of playgrounds. We also have access to the local lake where there is beach at our use during the summer months. Our town has one of the last full working dairy farms with cows on the premise for the kids to watch during the summer months. We spend many summer nights sitting on the back of our car eating the best ice cream in town watching the cows stare at us and mooing. We also enjoy 4th of July Family Fun Day with pony rides, face painting, games, food and fireworks.
One of our decisions to move to our town was because of the school system. Our town has one of the states most highly rated school districts. We live about a mile from the elementary school that our children will attend.
