Our Extended Families

Sean’s Family

Our extended families are both very close to us, and to each other. We often combine holidays and birthdays into one big party because our families get along so well. Every year Sean's family hosts a huge Christmas Eve party and all of our family and friends are invited. It is so fun to see the children react to Santa, AKA our brother in law, as he makes a surprise entrance and hands out gifts! We also host a big barbeque in August combining all of our family and friends. We have a large network of cousins and in-laws who come to enjoy sharing good food, conversation, laughing, playing Bocce or volleyball. We are fortunate that almost all of our family is located within 30 minutes of our home.

Sheila’s Extended Family

Sean is the younger of two children and is adored by his parents. Sean's father is a retired school principal. He passed on his love of History and they are both Civil War buffs. They also enjoy watching football together at a local restaurant. Sean's mother is an O.R. nurse; she enjoys working and is always energetic. They are both very active people and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. The more grandchildren there are to love and spoil the better. Sean's sister has two children, a son age 16 and a daughter age 8. They are involved in many activities; often we go to watch our nephew play baseball or football for his school. We like to see our niece play soccer or dance in a recital. We are very involved in their lives and always hope to be close.

Sheila is the youngest of three sisters; her parents have been happily married for over 36 years. They enjoy watching their grandchildren as much as possible. Sheila's father is a retired employee resource manager and enjoys going to see a N.Y. Yankees game with his daughter. Her mother was always a stay at home mom. She loved staying home with the kids and always being there for them. She worked on countless school projects and baked tons of cookies over the years. She provided a stable, loving environment for her children. Sheila's two older sisters each have two children. Her oldest sister has a daughter age 3 and a son age 1. Her middle sister has a son age 15 and a daughter age 3. Her nieces' birthdays are only 12 days apart and are the best of friends; they would love another playmate to add to the fun.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We love living in New Jersey, we have lived here our whole lives. It is nice to see the change of seasons when the winter ice melts and the flowers in our garden bloom in the spring. Then summer arrives and you feel the warm temperatures perfect for enjoying the Jersey shore. In the fall the air feels crisp and clean. The leaves on the trees transform into vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow making a spectacular site as we hike beneath them. Finally, the cold returns and winter ice and snow blanket our yard making it look like a magical shimmering snow globe.

Our Backyard

Aside from its natural beauty, our area is perfect for many activities. We are located minutes from the some of the best beaches, with powdery white sand and good waves, how can you top a day at the beach? Children love the beach to build castles in the sand or dip their feet into the rush of the oncoming surf. In addition to this our town contains many parks, zoos, sports teams, and amusement parks. We often bike, hike or rent boats at our local recreation center, being outside and enjoying nature is fun for us. N.Y. City is also very close and it is such a thrill to go the theater and see a wonderful show, dine at a new restaurant or visit any museum you could imagine. It is a wonderful place to visit during the holidays and we love to see the window displays and the tree at Rockefeller Center.

Our house is a two story colonial style home which has plenty of room to accommodate a new arrival. We can hardly wait to decorate the nursery. We have lots of open space in our fully fenced backyard. Children can safely explore and play in this area any time the weather allows. Our home is ready to host the many visitors who will be so excited to welcome the newest family member.
