With Dominic’s Parents at Laura’s Sister’s Wedding
We are so fortunate to have the families that we do. We were both raised by loving, dedicated parents. Thanks in great part to each of their examples, we feel confident in our ability to provide a stable, nurturing home filled with love and laughter.
Dominic is the middle of three boys. He is extremely close with his brothers who are his best friends. His mom and dad have been married for 46 years. His grandmother ("Nonni") is 95 and still going strong! He has two nieces and two nephews whom he adores. He makes a point of attending their softball or baseball games, dance recitals and school events. His family gets together regularly for holidays, birthday celebrations and barbeques. They also share family vacations at the beach or visiting relatives in Canada. You can always find "fun" Uncle Dom playing board games or sports in the yard with his nieces and nephews. They count on Uncle Dom to make gatherings fun and truly light up when he is around.
Our Wedding with Laura’s Family
Laura is the youngest of three sisters. They are all very close in age, communicate regularly and are the best of friends. Her mom and dad have been married for 48 years. Her family all live within an hour of one another and get together regularly for celebrations, holidays, barbeques and dinners. She has two nieces and one nephew who mean the world to her. She loves to watch them in their dance recitals, gymnastic and talent shows. She especially loves having them over for sleepovers where she can spend quality time with them baking, watching movies, playing games and doing hair and nails!
Our families have blended together so well, you would think they have known each other forever. To see all of our nieces and nephews play together is such an incredible feeling. Our nieces and nephews refer to themselves as "cousins-in-law". There is no more "his family" and "my family"…it is truly "our family" and we couldn't be more excited to add to this amazing family. They all mean the world to us. They are supportive in our efforts to adopt a child and are looking forward to a new addition to the family!
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
Our home is situated in a quiet yet lively suburb of Connecticut where we enjoy the best of all seasons. You can always find children outside playing so your child will not be wanting for playmates! Every year, we look forward to our annual summer block party, which is filled with plenty of food, fun and games for the children.
Playing Ball with Our Nieces and Nephews
Our town is full of children and families that enjoy spending quality time together and have a strong sense of community and family. The schools in our community are of the best in the state and are consistently awarded with an excellent rating for their high performance. We have several beautiful parks in our town as well as a community beach on the lake where we love to walk and enjoy the outdoors. In the center of town you will find families walking around enjoying restaurants, movies, shopping and, our favorite, the chocolate shop! Our town sponsors numerous activities for all ages and cultures throughout the year including a Halloween parade, a holiday stroll with the lighting of the Christmas tree in the center of town (including a visit from Santa!) and fireworks on the 4th of July.
We own a four-bedroom home situated on one acre of land with a spacious deck overlooking our private backyard. We enjoy getting our family and friends together for barbeques where we all join in playing volleyball, bocce ball, and badminton and wiffle ball.
Our home has a very open layout with a large family room where we all come together for movies, games, story telling and laughter. We love hosting holidays in our home and bringing together both of our families. We have made our house a warm and loving home and we look forward to having a child to share it with to make it complete.
