Our Extended Families

Tim with His Family

Tim has a twin sister named Trish who works as a nurse in Upstate New York. Come to think of it, all of Tim's and Susan's extended family live in Upstate New York. The good news is that we see each other quite frequently, despite living 875 miles apart from one another.

Susan has two older siblings, Don and Michelle, who both are married with a total of three children between the two couples. Michelle is an LPN and Don is a part-time DJ as well as a carpenter.

Sue with Her Family

Sue's father passed away in June 2001; Sue's mom continues to reside in New York. Sue speaks to her mom on the telephone almost every day, and both of us love to spend time with her and the extended family whenever we visit.

Tim's parents are happily married and live about 10 miles away from Sue's mom (they speak often). Sue's mom and Tim's parents look forward to become grandparents; Tim's mom and dad are especially excited about becoming grandparents for the first time!

We have discussed the possibility of moving back to Upstate NY if we become parents so that the child can have more regular contact with our extended family. All of our family members are very happy that we have chosen adoption.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a safe, family-oriented, suburban neighborhood in middle Tennessee. Our home has plenty of room for a child; in fact, we have performed much research to learn the best ways to have a "baby safe" home. We have built a home that is quiet, nurturing and peaceful while encouraging laughter and comfort.

Mocha, Our Dog

Our neighborhood holds many community activities such as community garage sales, bake sales and picnics. We have sidewalks for taking nature walks, bike trips, and dog walks. We have a great neighborhood park with swing sets and slides along with picnic tables for "food and fun." Often times you can hear children outside riding bikes, playing and giggling alongside their parents. We look forward to joining our neighbors in raising our children in this wonderful atmosphere.

Many of our neighbors have children of all ages, from newborn through late adolescent. We have become friends with our immediate neighbors and enjoy catching up on their life happenings. Most of them have children and we are excited to raise children along side of them.

People who visit our home tell us that it is a comfortable, safe, and friendly place. We regularly host family and friends; our home is a place of peace, comfort, and lots of laughter.
