Ronda has a large extended family that is very ethnically diverse. She has cousins who are Asian, African-American, Israeli and Hispanic, making a wonderful blend of cultures and traditions. Holidays get a little crazy when 40 plus people gather. Children of all ages run around and play, adults can be heard laughing and sharing stories of when they were younger. It's wonderful. The best part of it comes when everyone is leaving and the kids beg to go over to someone else's home or to have someone come home with them. The answer is almost always yes just so the adults can meet the next day to continue the party.
Cousins at a Birthday Party
William’s family is a little smaller with 2 younger brothers. Since Arizona’s weather doesn’t change much, we visit William’s family in Colorado several times a year. During these visits to snow country, we love to climb the rocks in his parent’s backyard. Weather permitting we will have a picnic or ski in Rocky Mountain National Park. Some of the best times occur when Skylar, William's son, begs to go over to his uncle's house to play Guitar Hero with his cousins. Or when everyone comes over for a family dinner and we get into a snowball fight. After the fight, we move into the house snow-covered, red-cheeked, and laughing ready to enjoy some hot coco.
Our families are very excited for us to be adopting. They are already trying to figure out how they can spoil the new baby. When Ronda first told her aunt, who has 5 adopted grandchildren that they were thinking about adoption, her aunt said "What are you waiting for? Get to it!"
Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home
We live in a lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in Arizona with a cat and dog. Currently we have a guest bedroom destined to be your baby’s room. The open floor plan for the kitchen, living room, and dining room provide a warm environment that is ideal for children playing. As a former teacher, Ronda love children's literature, so our office doubles as a library with shelves full of books. In back we have a fenced in pool and secured backyard perfect for young children.
Swimming in Our Backyard Pool
Our home is located in a great family friendly neighborhood with children surrounding our home. Every year the subdivision gets together for a picnic in one of the four parks in the neighborhood. Also we belong to a large Catholic Parish with young families and lots of family activities. It even has a Montessori School that we hope the child will be able to attend. Ronda volunteered during the past year to teach Catechism to 6th graders and enjoyed every minute of it.
