Our Extended Families

Tim's Family

Tim is the first of two children. He has one sister, who he is very close with, as well as a beautiful niece and a handsome nephew.

Tim's father works in construction. His mother is self-employed with her own housecleaning business. Tim's parents always placed great emphasis on family time. Dinnertime was a time to share as a family, and Sundays were regularly spent at church followed by lunch with his grandparents. Tim particularly remembers summers camping at the lake and cooking on the open fire, as well as riding bikes and participating in numerous sporting events while enjoying one another's company.

Tim and his entire family still remain very close-they all live in the same metropolitan area and speak daily. They routinely turn to one another for advice and support. His family is ecstatic about our decision to adopt and excited about becoming grandparents again!

Stephanie's Family

Stephanie is the second of two children. She has a single brother who resides in California and works in management for AT&T.

Stephanie's father is a farmer who is slowly moving into retirement. Her mother is a hairdresser who worked from home during Stephanie's formative years. They now take yearly mission trips to Haiti where they work in a children's orphanage. Stephanie fondly remembers her mother helping her with reading and math homework everyday after school. Stephanie's parents believed that children should be well rounded, so she and her brother were always involved in various clubs and activities. Stephanie participated in everything from sports, to learning to play the piano, to taking sewing classes in 4-H.

Although Stephanie's parents live three hours away, her family remains close with regular phone calls, e-mails, and frequent trips to see one another. They too, are ecstatic about our decision to adopt a child and are looking forward to becoming new grandparents and making him/her a part of our family.

Our House and Neighborhood

There's No Place Like Home!

Last fall, we built our home for one reason—to start our family. It is a beautiful two-story, four bedroom house located in a cul-de-sac on a quiet residential street. Our home has an open floor plan with a kitchen/family room, dining room, 3 ˝ bathrooms, a large deck overlooking a spacious fenced-in backyard, and a lower level just waiting to become a child’s play area!

We live in a family-oriented neighborhood where there are many young children of all ages. Our neighborhood has walking trails, playgrounds, and a fabulous water park for kids to splash around in!

Our Neighborhood's Fabulous Pool

The neighborhood is full of wonderful people and everyone seems to know everybody. We spend many afternoons barbequing with our neighbors and having a general good time. We even celebrate annually with a neighborhood block party—complete with gobs of food, gigantic inflatable toys for the children and firefighters making a stop at the party with their fire engines for the kids to explore!

We are also very fortunate to reside in one of the safest cities in the nation as well as having one of our state’s most highly rated school districts. These schools are up-to-date, well funded, and possess low student-to-teacher ratios.
