Michaela's Family at Thanksgiving
Michaela is the oldest from a family of two. Both Michaela and her brother were adopted as babies. Michaela's brother lives in the area and we see him often. Her Mom lives in Ireland and we visit there occasionally. When Michaela was in high school her parents moved away, and at that time she was more or less "adopted" into a family of six kids. Michaela stayed with her new family to finish high school and has now grown so close to them they are her family too. In that sense we have 14 nieces and nephews, and one on the way. Michaela is the middle child in my second family consisting of 5 sisters, and 1 brother. Her parents and siblings all live close by and we all get together on weekends and to celebrate birthdays,
holidays, and special events. We all take a yearly family vacation to the beach every August. Joe and Michaela are also the godparents for 2 of our nieces. We just love to spend time playing with all the kids together, babysitting, and spoiling them. Our whole family is very excited about the opportunity to love another child.
Joe's Family at His Sister's Wedding
Joe is the older of 2 children in his family as well. His younger sister Elizabeth lives in Texas with her husband and three kids. Joe's parents live in Texas. They have a 110-acre ranch with a huge lake. It's a great place to go and relax. Even though his parents live far away we see them often since his father is a retired commercial pilot and can travel with ease. Joe has always been close with this family. His parents are very supportive of us adopting and can't wait for another grandchild. Both of our families enjoy each other's company and get together as often as possible.
Our families could not be happier, or more proud, of our decision to adopt again. Indeed, adoption has touched the lives of our families already. Your child will be showered with lots and lots of hugs and kisses. We know your child could be the baby who needs all of our love and attention.
| Our House and Neighborhood |
Our Home
We live in a large 4-bedroom house in a quiet upper-middle class development in Virginia. Our house has 3 baths, kitchen, living room, family room, full basement with playroom and a recreation room, and a fenced backyard with a deck. We are located at the end of our street on the cul-de-sac, which offers safe-haven for children to ride their bikes, scooters, or just play outdoors. Many of our neighbors have kids ranging from newborn to 16 years old.
Our Back Yard with a Swing Set
Our community consists of mostly young families that have two to four kids. We have many excellent schools in the area that are in walking distance from our house. We plan on sending our children to the private grade schools, which feature small class sizes and a Christian education. We also have 4 pools located in our community and many parks for kids, bike trails, tennis, and basketball courts. We enjoy attending the community events that are held throughout the year such as parades, holiday festivals, and concerts, as well as many backyard get-togethers with our great neighbors and their children. When friends and family come to visit there is plenty of room to stay with us. Our home is perfect for entertaining and hosting family gatherings throughout the year and during holidays.
