Our House and Neighborhood
Home Sweet Home

We live in a small neighborhood just outside of a major city. We both grew up in a small town and love living in a nice quiet subdivision just outside of such a beautiful and culturally diverse city. We feel very safe and comfortable in our neighborhood and our home and we know it is a great place to raise children. You can often see children of different age groups playing in the evenings. The older kids tend to play basketball while the younger kids draw with sidewalk chalk or ride bikes.

We have a cozy 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home on a corner lot with several mature oak trees providing us with shade during the Texas summer months! Our neighborhood backs up to open space where we love to walk our dog (and best bud), Keystone. You can often see deer and rabbits running around in the open space. It's like our own little slice of heaven! We both grew up in small farming communities so we really love having some space to stretch our legs and enjoy looking at wildlife and nature.

We're also very close to several parks, a major water park, amusement park, and several aquariums and zoos. Our nephews love coming to visit because we've always got something fun to do! We're a short drive to various lakes, rivers, and the beach. We love to spend our vacations and weekends out on the water and will often vacation with family and friends.

Our Extended Families
Family Fun

We are incredibly blessed to live within an hour of most of our families and close friends. We are a short drive from sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as several very close friends. We love to get together with family and friends to celebrate holidays/birthdays, watch a game (football, basketball, baseball, soccer), or just spend time together. Growing up we both vacationed with family and spent time with cousins and aunts and uncles. We enjoy doing these activities with our siblings and nieces/nephews today and we both want that for our child.

Sam With Her Sisters & Goddaughter

A typical weekend with family and friends involves getting together at one of our houses, throwing some food on the grill, busting all the toys out to play with the kids, and just hanging out and visiting. One of our favorite events is our annual Christmas party. We host this event at our house with some of our local friends/family. Everyone wears holiday themed pajamas and we do a large Italian food spread complete with caprese, salad, and several types of pasta and desserts. We have a fun white elephant gift exchange and then spend the rest of the night playing games like Taboo and Scategories. The night is full of fun and laughter.

Family is such an incredibly important part of our lives and who we are. Our families are incredibly supportive of our adoption plans and they cannot wait for us to complete our family through adoption.
