We live in a wonderful family oriented neighborhood within an awesome town that sits between two lakes. Our home has a traditional look to it. It has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, lots of living space, and an awesome bonus room just for the kids. Our house has a great fenced in yard with a deck, a vegetable/fruit garden and a fun swing set. We love to sit on our deck for dinners any chance we get. Our neighborhood is filled with children of all ages to play with. The elementary school is located just 5 minutes up the road and is one of the best in the county. A new high school is being built close by and is where our children will attend one day.
Some of our favorite activities in the community are the children’s park, the lakes, zoo, the huge water park, and the greenway. There are also several museums. We have memberships to both the zoo and the water park and hit up the playground very regularly. Because we live just outside of a large city, there are fun events every weekend of the year from parades, to marathons, festivals, fairs, flea markets, to concerts. Our county fair is the largest in the state and is so much fun. We look forward to it every year and make sure to attend the Demolition Derby that’s part of the celebration. We love supporting our local professional sports teams.
Our families are very supportive of our adoption plan and are excited for us. The grandparents are eager for another grandchild. Our children will be able to have a wonderful and close relationship with their grandparents, aunts and uncles.
We have an amazing relationship with Emily’s parents and her sister and husband. They live about 5 minutes from us. We do a lot together from family dinners, vacations, holidays, church, and leisure activities. Our favorite thing is steak night. Emily’s dad is a master griller and cooks a killer steak. Every year we enjoy traveling to Myrtle Beach together for a week of fun and relaxation. We celebrate most holidays with Emily’s family and always create many memories.
Matt’s family is spread out and is unfortunately located in other states. We have a close relationship with his brother and sister and their families. We try to visit them as often as we can. Both of Matt’s siblings were adopted. It has been nice to have them as part of our support system since they have experience with adoption.
We have a good group of friends who are like family. We love to get together to watch sporting events, celebrate birthdays, or grab a bite to eat. Many of our friends have families of their own and our kids play together. Our friends are all very excited and can’t wait to meet our new little one.
