We live in a small, but very family-oriented community. Our community has several annual festivals, a Thanksgiving parade, and a Christmas parade. Our local churches do Trunk or Treats for children for Halloween. The children are able to go from church to church and fill up their Halloween buckets with candy. The community park also has movie nights during the summer.
Our home is set in a large, 3 acre open field where we are able to see deer, turkey, and other wildlife often. Our home is 2 stories and has 3 bedrooms and 2 and a half baths. Our favorite room is our den, where we gather to watch football games and other sporting events.
Our community has a park with a pool and a playground that children of all ages enjoy. There are also ball fields and a skate park. Our community has 1 elementary school, 1 middle school, and 1 high school.
We, along with our family, could not be more excited about our adoption. Our families have been extremely supportive. Jonathan's parents live about 1 mile away and Andrea's parents live about 20 minutes away. Our extended family is also very close by and we see them often. We get together with Andrea's family about once every couple of weeks and have a game night. We gather together several times a month with each other's family for lunch or dinner. We always gather as a family for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Most of our extended family is always there during holidays. We make it a point to go to each family's house during the holidays. We are blessed that our families have scheduled their celebrations so we can attend each side's function.
Our family is unique in that we are very close. Jonathan has one sister and Andrea is an only child. Outside of our parents, our grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins are actively involved in our lives.
