We live in a modest three bedroom ranch home with a two car garage, 2.5 baths and a full basement. Our home is nearby a newly built elementary, and across the street from a golfing community. David and his father lovingly built our home, and we are very blessed to have these memories. We have 1.5 acres with a large fenced backyard so our dogs can play and stay safely close to home. Our yard is right next to a meadow that attracts a variety of birds and butterflies – it’s the perfect space for adventure in any child’s imagination. We are looking forward to building a playhouse!
Within a ten minute drive, we can explore a very large State Park with miles of hiking trails, a large lake for boating, and camping. Heather was actually a Junior Forest Ranger at this park when she was nine years old. Down the road, there’s another state park with an amazing wet playground for children that we love to enjoy with our 2 year old nephew. The park includes an education center, playground, and Frisbee golf course.
Our community has numerous Holiday festivals that include amusement rides, live music, and a summer fair that ends with a beautiful fireworks celebration. Christmas is especially fun with a “rein dog” parade followed by a visit from Santa.
We have a wonderful extended family that is so excited about our plan to grow a family! Since they live so close to us and have many children of their own, it gives us the opportunity to be part of their special moments such as Holidays, birthdays, and milestones in life.
Heather’s family has always been extremely tight, not a day goes by that she doesn’t talk to her mom and sister at least twice. She’s always going down to see her mom who babysits our precious nephew ‘boo’! Each summer we travel to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to visit with Heather’s mom’s side of the family.
David is the youngest of four. He and his siblings were adopted at the ages of birth to five years. His siblings have six children combined. We enjoy spending time with David’s family engaging in activities such as bowling, canoeing, cookouts, playing music, and attending sporting events.
David’s friends, all musically talented, come over to jam in our basement music studio and write music together. They frequently write songs, pass them around, and then regroup to record. We love having cookouts with our friends, and each year we get together for a big canoe trip.
