We feel very fortunate that both our families live in Washington State. Everyone is so excited for a new special addition to our family and they support our adoption dreams 100%.
Jackie has a small family of just her Mom, Dad, Step-dad, Sister and Brother-in-Law. They are a very close family and often do things together. Jackie's dad is an amazing cook and holds monthly Sunday dinners and her Mom & Stepdad have a small farm, where she has dogs, cats, goats, a pig and a rooster. Her sister is very crafty and is very creative with all her projects. For our wedding, she made many amazing things for decoration. As a family, we spend time together for holidays, camping and beach trips.
Unlike Jackie, Dale has a large family despite being an only child. His family is made of his Mom, Aunt, 2 Uncles, 2 Cousins and Grandparents on both his mom and dad’s side. Dale's Mom and Aunt both work for local school, his mom works with computers and his Aunt is a principle. Both sets of grandparents are so very special to Jackie and Dale. In this mix of grandparents there is a fisher, a golfer, a singer and world traveler. Dale has been to many places with his grandparents and is hopeful to do the same when they are Great Grandparents!
We live in the beautiful Washington State in a small town that is one of the oldest communities in the state. Dale has lived in this town since he was 4 years old. The community is very close knit and often does many events. A few that we are fans of are Planter’s Day and Pekin Ferry Firework Show. Downtown there is a lake where we both played in the waters as children and even as adults! We live along a river and often take the dogs up river to hike or play in the water. There are many camping spots near Mt. St. Helens that we like to visit and we are excited to be able to go camping with our child one day soon.
Our home is very special to us as it is where Dale grew up! Dale's parents bought the brand new home in 1993 and after we were married it was passed down to us. We have had a lot of fun being creative and fixing it to match our tastes. We have an open floor plan in the main living space, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. There is a large garage and a HUGE back yard.
One of the things we love most about living here is the relationships with our neighbors. We have neighbors that knew Dale as a kid and new neighbors that we have built strong friendships with. We love our state, town and home and wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world!
