Two years ago, we moved to the suburbs with the intent of having a family. Our home is a spacious 5 bedroom home, with plenty of room for an awaiting playroom and nursery for a child. Our home is located in Illinois and our town is rated, "One of The Best Places to Live In Illinois." Our community provides numerous programs and activities for kids and families and is known for their quality educational system.
It didn't take long to meet our many neighbors. Our neighborhood is filled with many families and kids of all ages. We enjoy gathering with our neighbors to enjoy the summer concerts and "Kid Days", in the back of our subdivision. All the neighborhood kids and adults have so much fun at our block-parties, caroling party, Halloween Fest or simply our many impromptu gatherings.
Our home is steps away from a train to the city and adjacent to a huge park filled with playgrounds, soccer and baseball fields and a neighborhood swimming pool with water park. We enjoy the many bike and nature trails and take advantage of kayaking on the large lake. We look forward to the day we can take a child fishing and enjoy a summer day on the paddleboats. In the winter, the park turns into a winter wonderland where we enjoy strolling through the snow to see all the lights throughout the park, and skate on the park's ice skating rink.
Family is so important to us and we know ours will play a vital role in the life of a child. We are fortunate to have strong and loving relationships with our parents, siblings and extended families and we know that this child will be so loved.
Cheryl's family all live within the area. Almost all of her extended family live within 20 minutes of our home. We love spending time with her family whether it be Sunday dinners, backyard BBQ's or adventures with her nieces. Her parents love having us all together to just hang out or drop by, and it is so helpful to have them close by. We enjoy the many traditions that have been passed down in Cheryl's family and our house is now the gathering spot for making Christmas cookies, creating different holiday crafts, and the big Thanksgiving Feast. Her siblings all still have an ongoing contest of ,"who can buy mom the sentimental Christmas present that will make her cry."
Dan's family all live within Illinois and two of his brothers live within an hour drive. Dan is 1 of 8 children, with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Family gatherings are fun with a packed house full of siblings, nieces and nephews. The house has so much energy with different games being played and food always out. Dan's mom's baking is a tradition that has been passed down, and now Cheryl loves making some of her cookies and candy.
