Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home

We live in a beautiful, vibrant city, with many biking and nature trails, parks, a library, and an upbeat downtown area lined with restaurants and unique shops. One of our favorite events of our downtown area is the annual “Big, Bright Light Show,” where all of the local businesses light up their buildings with more than one million glimmering holiday lights. There is also a beautiful outdoor winter festival complete with fireworks, dog sled races, sledding, ice sculptures, and ice skating. We love celebrating the Christmas season here as it truly inspires the holiday mood.

There are many younger children in our neighborhood. Our subdivision hosts an annual Halloween parade and party complete with games, a bounce house, pizza and cider.

Our downtown hosts various popular art festivals, one of which ranks among the nation's top fine art fairs, with over 290 artists from across the country.

As we live only five minutes from a major university, there is never a shortage of activities.

Our home has four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and is situated on a pond, with many trees and flowers surrounding. It is a most peaceful, serene environment, and we enjoy eating dinner outdoors, while watching the deer and many exotic birds from our deck. We are thrilled to begin to decorate the baby's room of our home.

Kristen’s favorite room of the house is her office, while Dave loves watching football in the family room of our finished basement. We can't wait to take a child out for a walk or a bike ride through the neighborhood.

Our Extended Families
Dave's Family

We both come from very close-knit families, and family togetherness is something we both have grown up with and value most of all. We regularly attend family dinners, holiday parties, and the birthday parties of our eight nieces and nephews. Kristen's sister and parents live close, and we spend much time with her two young nephews, who lovingly refer to her as "Aunt Kiki." We love spending an evening watching Star Wars and Bubble Guppies, or playing with dinosaurs while babysitting. Sunday dinners with her family are something that we often enjoy during the weekends. Spending Christmas Eve at her mom's house for her annual party, followed by attending Midnight Mass, has been a tradition Kristen has grown up with, and one that we intend to continue with our child. Kristen’s parents have a condo in Florida, and we love to vacation there annually to escape the cold.

Dave's family is a little larger, with two parents, two older sisters and a brother, all of whom live close. We enjoy attending the baseball, football, and basketball games of his six nieces and nephews, and also enjoy touring their college campuses now that some are getting older. Participating in the white elephant gift tradition for Christmas has been a family favorite.

Our families are ecstatic to soon be welcoming a new grandchild and niece/nephew and we can't wait to introduce this child to our extended family!
