Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home

We live in Washington state in a small sailing town. There is very little traffic and it is very safe. Our home is designed to have lots of space, with a jack-and-jill bathroom for the kids, a movie room and a games room that opens up to the outside, Candace has a studio so that she can work from home.

Our house is in a beautiful oceanfront community. We have wonderful neighbors and an excellent school system. Our community holds many family friendly events, such as potlucks at the beach, an Easter egg hunt and a huge Fourth of July fireworks display. There are lots of families in our neighborhood. The surrounding parks have great playgrounds and activities such as movies in the park. We have a boat, as well as kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, we go crabbing and clamming and fish from the dock. The swimming is great too!

We believe that our home is perfect for a family and allow a child to grow up by the water, close to the mountains and very close to a major city with baseball, football, cultural events and an international airport.

Our Extended Families
Candace's Family

We both have wonderful extended families. Candace's brother, Corey, and his wife, Courtney, have a beautiful daughter, Addlie, and a son named Bentley. We recently celebrated her father's 70th birthday where we all played baseball in the backyard. We had a big sleepover where we watched movies on the couch and had pancakes for breakfast. Candace's Mom Elaine and Dad Mel have been married for over 45 years.

Jon's Family

Jon's family consists of a brother named Blaine and his wife, Susan; and a sister named Adrienne, her husband, Stuart, and two nephews, Wil and Isaac. On a recent visit we went to the zoo, rode a big seven-seater bike around the waterfront, and went to our beach where we dug for clams to eat while we watched the Fourth of July fireworks. Jon's mom lives nearby, so we also spend a lot of time with her and husband, Byron.

Our families are overjoyed with the thought of us adopting, they know how much we love and care for our nephews and nieces and can't wait to see us with a child, Jon's sister was so happy she started to cry when she heard about us adopting.

We also love our home and community of friends. Golfing, boating, exploring the beach and spending as much time cooking and playing games with friends and family is important to us. Candace loves to bake and decorate cupcakes with the kids for each holiday.
