Our Extended Families
At Our Niece's QuinceaƱera

We are both from Virginia and are surrounded by a large and supportive family who gather regularly and are eager to welcome a child into our traditions of holidays, birthdays, and family trips. We live near our parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews, and enjoy spending quality time with them. Our parents are excited to have another grandchild to spoil and love. Adam has two brothers locally who are raising young children of their own and look forward to another playmate. Joe has two siblings, one who is nearby with three children who are equally ecstatic about bringing another cousin into their circle. Long-time friends are also nearby to lend additional support. We live close to the beach, and enjoy weekends lounging on the sand and playing in the water with friends and family. Even when it's too chilly to lounge in the sand, we find ways to enjoy the season with friends and family, from pumpkin carving at Halloween to making cookies at Christmas.

Adam's Family

Our House and Neighborhood
Home Sweet Home

We live in a safe and family-friendly neighborhood, home to many school-age children, all in the historic heart of our city. Every school day, a small army of kids and parents walk, bike, scooter, and roller-skate to our fantastic nearby neighborhood school. School carnivals, 10K runs, and festivals put on by the PTA take place throughout the year and demonstrate the commitment of neighborhood parents. American flags fly beside those of other nations on front porches, the sign of foreign military families stationed here for a few years at the nearby Navy base. The fall brings neighborhood tailgating and street parties on home game days for the Monarchs at the adjacent Old Dominion University.

We live in a charming Cape Cod house, centered around a frequently used living room space, four bedrooms, a galley kitchen for Adam to let loose in while whipping up a culinary masterpiece for friends and family, and a large deck to enjoy relaxing under a canopied backyard. A friendly park is just down the street, complete with a playground where neighborhood children congregate and take advantage of the open space for a pick-up game or running around.
