Our home is located in a fantastic small town in Texas, close to both San Antonio and Austin. We live on a quiet residential street in a three-bedroom renovated 1930's house. Our neighborhood is quiet and safe and just a 10-minute walk into the center of the historic town, with a great selection of independent shops and town square. The town is known for its fun activities for families, there's a huge waterpark, river to float, great children's museum, local parks, lakes for boating and great local community events; Fourth of July Parade, Wurstfest and Folk Fest, celebrating the local history, food and culture. There are many local soccer, softball and track teams for children to join and we are also really close to great elementary schools and the town has a wonderful high school. We have all the benefits of living in a small town community but with the cities close enough to enjoy and explore.
We love that our house is a home we have built together. We have a room chosen already for our nursery and are busy completing the refurbishment of the house and yard. Our kitchen really is the heart of our home, it's where we spend most of our time cooking, entertaining or working. We have the flexibility to work from home when we want to, so it's great to have a relaxing and comfortable house to live and work from. We think it's the perfect home to raise a family in.
Family is very important to us. We are lucky to have family all over the world, and travel regularly to visit each other in our homes or on family vacations. We have children, siblings, nephews and nieces in Texas, London, Japan and Dubai and parents in Philadelphia and England.
Our parents are retired and have plenty of time to visit wherever we are and we make a tradition of all meeting for Thanksgiving in the U.S. or for a traditional British Christmas in England. We celebrate Eid in Dubai, Boxing Day in England, Hogmanay in Scotland and Fourth of July in the U.S. – truly international family parties!
Our parents are already amazing grandparents with 7 grandchildren between them. They are very generous with their time and support and love playing games with the kids and supporting their sporting endeavors and education.
When we get together we love to play silly games, and it's tradition to have a new game every Christmas day. We like to vacation together, cook great BBQ's and have a sing along around a fire. We love to go to the beach or lake together, go boating and wakeboarding or wake-surfing.
We can't wait to introduce a new child into our blended families and our children, siblings and parents are so excited to be part of our journey.
