We live in a culturally diverse community located in a suburb in Virginia. We own a three-story townhouse in a small neighborhood. Our community has fabulous schools with tons of extra-curricular activities. We have a large community library that holds family story time every Saturday morning. We love taking our nephew to story time, and can't wait to introduce a child to story time! Our local pool has a fabulous kiddie pool, complete with Pirate ship!
Our community has weekly free concerts in our town square during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Everyone in the community comes together to enjoy some time outdoors listening to good music. The kids all love to run and play in the town square with glow necklaces and glow sticks, trying to catch lightning bugs. It is a great opportunity for children to spend time with friends. The best concert is on Fourth of July where the whole community comes out for the concert, food trucks and an amazing fireworks show!
We are very fortunate to live halfway between Margaret's parents and Marshal's parents. We love to spend weekends with our families. We enjoy taking our nephews to area farm events to play and explore. When we spend the weekend with Margaret's parents and her sister's family, we love to play board games or card games. We have a great time playing outside in the yard with the Pirate water table or running through the sprinklers. We look forward to adding a child to our weekend playtime with our nephews.
We love to go out to eat with Marshal's parents and sisters or watch a college football game together. Our favorite times are chatting while we gather to prepare dinner or singing along with the band at church.
Our favorite holiday tradition is our annual Christmas marathon. Christmas morning starts at Margaret's parents' home with her sister's family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins gathered together. We open gifts as a family, then work together to make a huge Christmas breakfast. The kids get some time to play with their presents and everyone enjoys time catching up together. Then we travel to Marshal's parents' home to celebrate Christmas lunch with his parents, sisters, and aunt. Then we travel to Christmas dinner with extended family as they arrive from South Carolina. It's a fabulous fun filled day that we are excited to share with a child.
