Our House and Neighborhood
Our Home

We live in a two-story house on three acres of land in a small neighborhood in the country. Our house has 4 bedrooms. We have been waiting for so long to turn the guest bedroom into a nursery for a child, and we're very blessed that we may now have that opportunity. This child will have plenty of room to play inside and out! Michael has often said that he would love to build a tree house behind our house. We're in a great neighborhood and within minutes of several other family members. There are a few other children around that are often outside with their dogs or running around playing. We live within a few miles of the elementary and high schools. There is a park, pool, baseball fields, and places to walk or skate nearby. We also have a basketball goal at our house, just waiting on someone to use it more!

We live within a short drive of the lake and rivers to kayak or fish. There are also two state parks nearby that we love going to and taking our dogs to visit or even spend the weekend there camping. Dollywood (amusement park) is just a short drive away too. Our town always has a big 4th of July celebration with a parade, food, and music, then shows an outdoor movie that night on the big screen after the fireworks. These are all things that we're excited to experience with our child!

Our Extended Families
Amy's Family

Although we both only have one sibling each, we have a pretty large extended family with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. Our parents live close to us. Amy's sister, Kayla, her husband and 3-year-old son just live a few minutes from us; so we get to see them often. Michael's brother lives a couple hours away, but visits quite a bit. We love having everyone close by! We often get together, especially during the summer, for cook outs by the pool at Michael's parent's house. That often leads to playing games like "horse" with the basketball in the pool, diving competitions, flag football or board games with all of the younger cousins and probably some of Michael's uncles too.

Michael's Family

We both have great families and close friends that are SO excited and eager for us to adopt! This child will definitely be loved and cared for by so many people. Michael's parents are retired and would love to help out wherever they can. This will be their first grandchild. Amy's dad is retired, and mom works, but will also be there to help out. This will be their second grandchild. Amy's nephew, Zach, would definitely like to have a cousin to play with and grow up with him. We're all looking forward to adding this child to our lives and making new traditions!
