Our House and Neighborhood
Home Sweet Home

Our home is roomy and welcoming -- the place we love to spend time together as a family and with close friends. We love our neighborhood because it is filled with young children (and future playmates!) and there are lots of family, social and playgroup activities. There's a park at the end of our street where we go almost daily to play and visit with other kids. We have a neighborhood pool and swim team, summer picnics and barbecues as well as an annual Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast with Santa.

Our town has a vibrant downtown with shops, restaurants, beautiful parks and various events throughout the year. It's also an easy drive into the 'big city' to take advantage of cultural and fun activities for everyone -- museums, sporting events, theaters and the zoo.

Our neighbors are so warm and friendly -- we have a great group of friends who have fun together and look out for each other. We get together for block parties, football games, birthday parties and holiday celebrations. We are active members of a church within a five-minute drive that has become a second neighborhood to us. Here we have found tremendous support and love from friends whom we cherish deeply.

Our Extended Families
Andy's Birthday with Grandma and Uncle Warren

We both grew up in the Midwest (in the same town as a matter of fact) and though our families have spread out a little bit, we make time to talk often and get together.

Grateful for Family at Nudgy and Papa's

Andy is an only child and his mother lives a few minutes away and she absolutely adores her visits with Emma, teaching Emma some of her favorite songs from Scotland that she learned as a child or cuddling up with a good book . Of course, Grandma always has some sort of special treat too. Andy's cousins live in the area and get-togethers for Christmas Day and birthday parties are big affairs where all the little cousins have a blast running around and playing with each other.

Nudgy and Papa (Elizabeth's folks) live in Wisconsin; fortunately it's not too far a drive. They often come down on weekends to visit and play. We also love going to their house to pick peaches and pears, watch the fish in the pond and visit the nearby zoo and beach. Elizabeth's brothers also live in Wisconsin but holidays and vacations and free weekends provide opportunities for the cousins to get together.
