Dear Birth Parent(s),

Thank you for taking the time read our letter. We are Gerard and Diana and we would be honored if you would consider us to be the parents of your child. We know this is a very difficult decision for you to make, however, we also admire your strength and courage. Even though this is an important and emotional decision for you, please take note that your child will have everything possible that he/she needs to succeed and be happy in life. We will provide the best education, a nurturing home, and our unconditional love.

We have been married for three years, and are very happy to have found each other. We have always dreamed of having children, and we believe that a child will fill this void in our lives. We always enjoy being surrounded by our niece, nephews, and cousins at family gatherings, sporting events, dance recitals and summer barbecues. We also feel much joy when we get together with our friends who have young children. We participate in various activities with them such as birthday parties and attending the county fair. Even their children affectionately refer to us as aunt and uncle.

As a couple, we enjoy doing many activities together and having a good time. Some examples are: going to the beach, dining out, taking leisurely walks and spending a quiet evening at home. We are looking forward to sharing these activities with your child.

Both of us grew up in a happy, stable home following the Roman Catholic Faith. We attend church regularly and believe this brings us some sort of peace. We were raised with very supportive parents, and tradition still holds a very strong presence in our lives. We hope to pass our family traditions and values to your child. These include traditions such as decorating the Christmas tree, searching for Easter Eggs in our backyard and values such as having a sense of self-worth and self-esteem. We anxiously await the pitter-pattering of little feet in our home, and seeing another person eating with us at our dinner table.

We will be honest with your child about his/her adoption. We will inform your child that your decision was a difficult and selfless one. We will tell him/her that you wanted what was best for him/her. We will send you pictures and/or letters, so you can feel comfortable with your decision, if you so desire.

Again, we would be very happy to be the parents to your child. Diana will be a stay at home mother. She will be able to retire from teaching and receive a pension. This will be an asset to your child, for he/she will receive the necessary nurturing and attention, which is so important in the development years. We will get to witness the child's first smile, steps, words etc. We have much love to offer, and you can rest assured that your decision was the right one.
