Dear Birth Parent(s),

Our names are David and Judy. We are the proud parents of Jennifer, who we adopted a little over three years ago. She has brought much love and joy into our hearts, and now we are ready to share that love with another child. Our experience with adoption has forever shaped our lives; we will always appreciate the unselfish courage of birth mothers who make this difficult decision. And we have always honored the responsibility of being adoptive parents by maintaining a caring, stable, supportive home for our child.

We'd like to share a little about ourselves with you. We have been happily married for 18 years, living in the hometown where we both grew up. From the beginning, our focus has always been on starting a family. At first, we decided to wait several years so we could build financial stability. Then, over a decade ago, we attempted to start our family. After several frustrating years without success, we decided that adoption would finally enable us to have the family we had wanted for so long. It was not a new concept to us: Judy's sister had adopted a baby from Russia and one of our cousins had adopted two children from Romania. Finally, in June of 2004, American Adoptions brought us our infant daughter Jennifer, and our lives were forever enriched.

We are so thankful for all of the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. In raising our children, we want to continue the lessons of generosity and kindness that our parents taught us. Judy is able to stay home full-time, which means that she can spend lots of time with our children when they are in their young, formative years - doing creative projects in the family room, taking day trips to the zoo with our friends, enjoying music & gymnastics classes and meeting with our weekly playgroups. We are both fortunate to come from loving and supportive families, and since they live close by, we spend most weekends with them. Holidays, birthdays and family gatherings are very important to us, and we treasure the laughter and memories we've shared over the years. Jennifer is an important part of our family, and she loves playing and learning from her large extended family. We hope that we can soon give her a little brother or sister to grow up with and share in life's everyday experiences. Jennifer gets very excited when she plays with and talks about babies. She will make a wonderful big sister.
