First we would like to say how much we admire your courage in considering adoption. It takes a great deal of strength to endure the hardships that go along with this process, and your consideration exemplifies the selflessness of a true mother. We know we will never understand the trials you have been through, but we truly believe that God can find us in the midst of our pain and turn the broken into something beautiful. We want you to know that we pray for you and your child daily. We pray that the Lord cradles you in His hands, protects you, and gives you peace. And we praise Him, because we know that He has a plan for your life and for the life of your precious child.
We would like to take a moment to share with you a little about ourselves and how we made the decision to adopt. Back in September of 2010, Jana found out she has a genetic mutation that she could easily pass onto a biological child. This mutation makes the carrier more susceptible to different types of cancer, and most of these cancers tend to surface during childhood. The severity of this mutation became all too clear when our nephew was diagnosed with a brain tumor at only 21 months. He is now three and, despite numerous surgeries and treatments, the tumor continues to grow. We saw enough pain and heartache with our nephew to know that having a biological child was a risk we were not willing to take. Rather than be upset that we couldn't have biological children, we saw this as confirmation by God that we would adopt. We believe it is such a blessing that we are given the opportunity to provide a loving home to a cherished life.
We want you to know that, should you choose us to care for your child, we are willing to do all we can to include you in his or her life and will share with you the experiences your child has as he or she grows through pictures and letters. We would want your child to know all about you and how your brave decision makes you an angel in our eyes. And when the time comes that your child should ask to meet and know you, we will embrace his or her decision and give you the opportunity to truly experience the miracle you gave life to, if that is something you are comfortable with.
We pray that God will guide you and lead you as you choose. We pray that you will feel peace in your decision and that there will be no doubt in your mind that you are making the right choice for you and your child.
We appreciate you taking the time to view our profile, and again, we would just like to thank you for considering adoption.
