We are Ruth and Eric. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and for considering adoption. We hope to get to know you, as well. We are very pleased that you are reading our profile and considering us for adoption. What an amazingly selfless yet courageous decision you are contemplating. Through your love and compassion for your child, you are considering his/her best possibilities and best options for a full future. We are so deeply thankful and appreciative for this opportunity to share a little of us with you.
We met on January 7, 2000 on the internet. Yes… "You've got mail". Immediately, we both knew… We dated for over two years traveling between two states every weekend. We were married on a beautiful deserted beach in Maui, Hawaii on June 3, 2002. We agreed to call New Jersey our home, as Eric had two teenaged boys at the time who lived only two miles from his apartment. So, we packed me up and I moved to New Jersey. We bought our home the following summer, adopted 2 greyhounds two years apart and Eric's boys grew up and went off to
college. We were now ready to start our family. We both recognized that conceiving a child now was not an option. However, our desire to be a mom and dad together combined with our deep love for Eric's older boys, has brought us here to adoption.
We can not even begin to know your thoughts and feelings now and we will not pretend to. We will say that we are so thankful to be here at this moment and hope to earn your trust. We promise to love your child and raise him/her to their highest potential. Your child will be loved unconditionally, honored fully, supported emotionally, financially, psychologically and spiritually. He/She will be protected before all others, encouraged daily, motivate to reach for the stars, taught by our example, listened to intently, understood without judging, appreciated with an open heart and adored with patience, kindness, laughter and tons of hugs and kisses.
We have a genuine bond to each other which includes: our independent strength, our grounded relationship, our tremendous love and emotional support for each other, our "silly" sense of humor and our maturity. We love to be with each other, love to have fun and are truly in love with each other. Humor and laughter is a big part of our life. It tends to lighten the heart and soul and keeps everything in balance.
We are so excited of the thought of sharing our favorite things with your child while creating new firsts with him/her too. We love the simple pleasures in life: walking the dogs, a long bike ride, visiting a historic site, football games, movie night, everything family: summer pool parties and BBQ's, Christmas and Thanksgiving, birthday's, building a snowman, washing the car, fireworks, diners, ice-cream, looking for seashells, gardening, shopping on Christmas eve, shopping in general, carving pumpkins, board games, HDTV, swimming, just to name a few…
When we share our adoption story with your child we will always hold you with the highest regard and respect. You sought out the best possible solution for your child's happiness; regardless of how difficult a decision it was for you. There is great honor in putting yourself second to your child. He/She will know how much you love him/her and your decisions were solely based on doing what was ultimately best for him/her. We will acknowledge
this and will be grateful. Your child will know this about you and as he/she grows and matures will come to love and admire you too; for your sacrifice. You will always be in our heart and thoughts.
We admire you for your strength and courage. If you agree, we would like to send you pictures and letters over the years, providing you with some reassurance and peace of mind that the personal sacrifice you made for the sake of your child was worthy and righteous. You will be able to see for yourself, through these pictures and letters that you child is loved, cared for and genuinely happy.
Thank you for getting to know us. Thank you for opening the door to our possibility of becoming parents.
