We are Rob and Amy, and we are very excited that you have decided to take a look at our profile! We are eagerly looking forward to the joy of someday soon becoming parents through the miracle of adoption, and would like to take this opportunity for you to get to know us better.

We have been together for 17 years and happily married for 12. We both come from very loving and stable homes where we were taught early the importance and value of family. We met at our first job out of college and have been together ever since! Our family and friends say that we are a good combination of personalities and we believe that this, combined with our common dreams, goals, and faith, has been what makes us the couple we are today. As a couple, we enjoy spending time with family and friends,traveling, and working on "projects" together around the house. Neither one of us is necessarily very good at it, but we like to try! We love to travel, both alone and with our extended families. We have traveled to Alaska, the Smoky Mountains, the Grand Canyon, and Lake Tahoe, among other places. We hope to pass our love of travel and nature on to a child, and Rob in particular can't wait to take a child crusing to Alaska and on one of his favorite whale-watching tours! We also take walks nearly every night togther and use that time to stay connected as a couple and to talk about the events of the day and our hopes and dreams for the future. We plan to spend lots of time with a child at the lake and on other family trips creating wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

We have spent a lot of time talking about how we would raise a child and what values we would like to share with him or her. We plan to let a child know the story of his or her adoption throughout childhood and beyond. While we have not been blessed with a biological child of our own, it is important to us that this child does not feel "different" because our family was created through adoption. If you choose us to parent your child, he or she will be welcomed with open arms into a family with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other people who are eager to be a part of his or her life. One thing is certain...there would never be a child more loved and more precious than one we would bring into our home.

We would also strive to let a child become the person that he or she wants to become. Like any parents, we would have great hopes and dreams for a child. We hope to help a child discover what they love and want out of life, and then help them achieve that by raising them with a balance of structure for discipline while leaving a lot of room for them to explore their individuality and creativity. We really look forward to spending our days teaching and learning with a child and helping him or her discover how wonderful life can be. We both feel that being parents will be the most rewarding--and challenging!--experience of our lives.

We understand that this is a very difficult decision, and acknowledge that adoption means that we are blessed with a child but also that you are giving up a very special gift. We would like to reassure you that we would be happy to send letters and pictures to you through the years to help you see that your child is growing up happy and surrounded by love. Your child will always know about you and the amazingly unselfish decision you made.
